From showing the website to a few people the current navigation sidebar on the settings page has received a bit of negative feedback.

Some key point are that:

• It confusing that its on the right when these things are usually on the left.
• They look more like buttons than navigation links.
• Why is there a settings icon (gear) in what appears to be the settings page? All other pages are settings to no?

From a "non-admin" pow I believe the gear icon is appropriate. The button on the profile page should not say "innstillinger" rather "more information" or something though. What permissions you have and your account are not really "settings" from a regular user. I don't think of these pages as the "settings" page(s) but rather a page containing all information about a user. That includes the page to edit meta information (not fully implemented) like name email gender profile pic. (The gear page) but also the users account which is not "settings" but information about one specific user. Note that the design pattern with yellow navs is used elsewhere too.
