List numbering is not as expected

Issue description

Numbering of list items is not as expected.

Steps to reproduce

Try as shown in the illustration:

Expected behavior:
Expect PDF output to contain list items numbered 1,2,3,4 as in the markdown preview window of Atom text editor.

Actual behavior:
Obtained a PDF output with list items numbered 1,2,1,2
