I'd like to contribute to the repository

I saw this issue #10 and would like to contribute with it.

I saw @IGaneshD did contribute with a PR, but the code doesn't align with your guidelines.

I have a few questions before starting to take care of this issue:

• Should the decode function either return a python object or a string if just an option is set or should this be implemented in a separate function? I don't think having a function that can return two types is a good idea and this might also lead to non-uniformities between the Python/Rust APIs.
• Should I review the PR by @IGaneshD? The code submitted requires quite some cleaning and maybe it's better to start from scratch. I'm also available to work together with him to tackle this issue.

@albertoZurini, you called it right – a decode() that returns either a value or a string isn't a good API. Closing this along with #10 (why).
