Crashing/closing after start

I have installed the app on two different devices. On the first device, it works, but nothing happens on the second device. The app is freshly installed, but it won't open after installation. No automatic start after installation. Even if I start the app manually, it won't open. In the Task Manager, 1-3 processes appear for a few seconds and then disappear again. No error message.

Unfortunately there's nothing useful in there.

All I can really suggest is to reset the app's data: https://github.com/tom-james-watson/breaktimer-app?tab=readme-ov-file#how-can-i-hard-reset-the-apps-data

Other than that, the only other thing I can suggest is waiting for the next version, which I'm currently working on, and see if that fixes it for you.

Reset app's data is not solving the problem. Even 2.0.3 is not running. Logs are not helpful.

Used KI to find the problem and here is his generated answer:

I've identified the root cause of this issue. The app crashes because the GPU process fails to initialize on certain Windows 11 systems (especially Build 26200+).

Error from logs:

[ERROR:content\browser\gpu\gpu_process_host.cc:957] GPU process exited unexpectedly: exit_code=-2147483645
[FATAL:content\browser\gpu\gpu_data_manager_impl_private.cc:415] GPU process isn't usable. Goodbye.

Workaround that works:
Starting BreakTimer with these Chromium flags fixes the issue:

BreakTimer.exe --disable-gpu --disable-gpu-compositing --no-sandbox

Root cause:

Specific Intel UHD Graphics drivers (even the latest version 31.0.101.2137) have incompatibilities with Chromium's GPU acceleration on Windows 11 Build 26200
The app crashes silently without displaying any error to the user
Suggested fixes:

Short-term: Add a fallback in the app to automatically retry with --disable-gpu if the GPU process fails
Long-term: Add a setting in the app UI to toggle hardware acceleration on/off (similar to how VS Code and Discord handle this)
User-facing: Display an error message when the GPU process crashes instead of silently exiting
The same issue affects other Electron apps (like Beeper) on the same system, confirming it's a Chromium/GPU driver compatibility issue, not specific to BreakTimer.
