I suspect this is impossible due to problems in the pdf technical specification, but I thought I would ask because I thought I'd heard someone on the ptxprint team saying this was possible.
I'd like to be able to copy/paste text out of Arabic script documents, but it doesn't seem to work. Note that I don't know that I've ever seen a single pdf where it worked, which is another reason I think it might be impossible.
Turning on pdf Archive (PDF/A-1a) doesn't seem to have an effect.
When I try copy/paste, the data coming out of ptxprint does not have any spaces in it (this is different from the behavior of at least one pdf I tested from a different program).
The data coming out of the ptxprint pdfs has the characters in reverse order (this is similar to all other pdfs I've seen).
If this is a shortcoming of the pdf spec, we can close this.
Even if it's possible, this would be low priority. I have a desire for this for some personal usage, but no one else externally has requested this.
