Attempting to create a TOC with chapter numbers makes all the text disappear

Phil's second suggestion:

solves the problem of the disappearing text, but the TOC just shows that John begins on page 1, no chapters are listed.

At any rate, it would be a great feature if you could simply check a box on the Table of Contents part of the peripherals tab to include chapters in the TOC.

Correction, Phil's second suggestion does work after all. For some reason it failed once, and then worked when I tried it again. But I would like to see the simple checkbox for including chapters in the TOC.

We haven't seen much, if any, interest in such a feature. But here is a changes snippet that should solve your problem, that you can insert. Notice that it works for any book without having to list all the book names. You may want to modify it to get the exact TOC you want, but here you go. BTW this will only work in the next release of PTXprint:

'(\\h\s*)(.*?)(\r?\n)' > '\1\2\3$set{bk,\2}'
'(\\c\s*(\d+))(\s+)' > '\1\3\\toc2 $v{bk} \2\3'

(yes I'll turn it into a snippet so that people can understand the depth of the spell) basically it uses some new change functions that allow you to grab a value and use it into another regex output. The $set function sets the bk variable and the $v function references it.

Thanks @mhosken. I'm surprised there would be little interest in such a feature, but then I think this detail is rare in printed Bibles .
