What new feature do you want?

rust toolchain is huge to have on servers. Somehow app needs to be built and distributed.

AFAIK github actions can build rust apps and attach as artifact for you in release.

Having linux builds for amd64/arm64 should be enough I suppose.

I tend to think that building binaries should be the responsibility of distros, but this does seem like a good thing to do for people who want to use shpool on distros that don't yet have a shpool package.

There is an aur for arch actually (and we've got one internally at google, but that doesn't really help anyone else)

So far they are basically in Arch’s AUR and in NixOS:

From what I can see, there are already building blocks for .deb here, which for servers would be already a great start. Just someone needs to push and maintain it in Debian :)

I would argue that .deb is unnecessary, and a statically linked binary would be a better solution.
This way it can be used on a server without root privilege.
