As a volunteer moderator at Freesound.org, sometimes I encounter people uploading remixes of Scratch sounds. I assume it's young people who learned digital creation with Scratch and want to continue sharing on other sites. Unfortunately I usually end up having to shoot them down as it is unclear what the license and what potential crediting requirements are for individual sounds.
For example the Disconnect sound ( https://assets.scratch.mit.edu/internalapi/asset/56df0714ed1ed455a2befd787a077214.wav/get/ ) was recently remixed and uploaded and I was about to reject the sound, so I searched for potential alternatives to suggest to remix to the uploader. I ended up finding Disconnected 01 (by) by rhodesmas, which appears to be the sounds MIT Scratch uses.
To my knowledge it is impossible however to find out the origin/license/creator of the sound via Scratch site/interface.
EDIT: rhodesmas is actually listed in the Scratch - Credits Sounds section.
Is there a way?
Does the team have a record of this information?
