Sort items by pub_date

I'm using following iteration to handle the feed:

for item in Channel::read_from(&reqwest::blocking::get(source)?.bytes()?[..])?.items() {

Can I sort it by pub_date ASC/DESC instead of order by members in the original response?
And also, is any build-in features to parse the date, as currently using DateTime::parse_from_rfc2822

The rss crate does not provide any sorting capabilities. You may either sort them manually (e.g. after collecting into a Vec) or use a library to do this for you (e.g. itertools is a very popular one).

DateTime::parse_from_rfc2822 is totally ok to use. Alternatively you may try diligent-date-parser crate which we use in a sibling atom crate. It basically iterates through a list of common date formats and tries them to parse a date.
