Duplicate of #6733 — same request for optional named Spaces/project groups above projects (e.g. Work vs Personal / Cloud Security) that you switch between to show only the relevant project list, without changing agent execution. #3722 is the older directory-based grouping issue (closed); please upvote and continue on #6733. |

As I add more projects, the sidebar gets harder to manage because unrelated areas of work are mixed together.
I’d like an optional organizational layer:
Workspace / Project group → Projects → Threads
For example, “Cloud Security” could contain my portfolio and compliance lab projects, while “Personal” contains other some vibecoded game projects.
The basic functionality would be creating named groups, assigning projects to them, and switching between groups to show only the relevant projects. Switching groups should leave running threads running.
This is purely for organization—no shared memory, cross-project context, or changes to agent execution. Groups should work regardless of where project folders live on disk.
Related: #3722 proposed directory-based grouping and mentioned a manual grouping option. My use case is specifically a simple, manually managed layer above projects.
