I'd like to package bmfdec for nixpkgs, and other distros (Debian, Arch/AUR) face the same situation. The repository currently has no git tags, so downstream packaging has to pin a raw commit hash for versioning, which is awkward to maintain and harder for users to reason about. Would you consider tagging a release (e.g. v1.0.0) on the current HEAD? A real tag gives packagers a stable, citable version to reference and makes update automation much cleaner.
