Users not with Administrative Access should be allowed to view only their contacts

Is there any way to implement one change in the OpenCATS-0.9.3-1 version...

The logged in user should be taken to his/her contacts only and the check box provided on the right top corner should allow to further show "Only Hot Contacts" out of the logged in user's contacts only. They should not be allowed to view contacts owned by other users till the time they have administrative access...

Only users with the administrative or root access to be taken to all contacts with both the current options on the right hand corner to view "Only My Contacts" and to view "Only Hot Contacts"... If both the buttons are checked then they should be shown only their hot contacts...

IMPORTANT: This should be implemented only for "Contacts" tab and not for the "Clients" tab and thus essentially the clients section can stay like this only except for when the user clicks on the client details they should again be able to see only their contacts only.

I guess this should not be too much of a programming change and can be added soon..

We have similar requirement, no admin user shall see only candidates he is 'managing'.
Current system of access level is not proper for such tuning of access levels, it is not configurable and implemented in the way that whoever with access level >= READ can see everything.
PR #91 was created to be able to configure access level to different objects (see Access Level Overview), our next plan (partially implemented, not yet published) is to fine tone this access also to 'owning' objects.

I tried implementing the changes suggested in this commit but it did not change anything I guess... I am still looking to see what all it affected...

Do we already have something on this? this is very important for me to have my team access only their contacts...

This would have to be a feature request. There is currently no filtering.

Actually you do have a filtering already in place...

Once we log in we do have an option to check the button to filter only my contacts... What I thought was that this view should be the default landing for all the users and users only with Admin or root level access should have the facility to view all candidates by unchecking the box... Others may not even be shown that checkbox...

Do you think this one is a time taking effort and will take time to provide this in OPENCATS?
Contacts info is vital for the sales person or the accounts manager in the team and usually one account manager would not like to share his contact with others in the organisation (at least till the time he is still employed)...

I don't think it's too difficult, but definitely a feature and not a simple bug fix.

We would need to add a setting in the Administration area, database change and a UX change. Then lots of testing.

I installed another instance of the latest build (commit a32c986) just to test user access level changes but it is throwing up the HTTP ERROR 500 on adding a new company... Seems to be some problem with the code...attaching 2 screen shots (before and after adding new company)... Tried adding same to demo site and could do it without problems...
