Add usage-limit rings to the /pet avatar overlay #21480

What variant of Codex are you using?

App

What feature would you like to see?

I would like Codex App's /pet avatar overlay to support usage-limit rings directly inside the avatar overlay window.

The rings could show:

  • a primary short-window usage limit, such as the 5h limit
  • a secondary longer-window usage limit, such as the weekly limit

Because the rings would be part of the same /pet overlay, they would move, drag, hide, clamp, and resize together with the pet. This would also make the behavior more reliable for custom pets.

Useful options could include:

  • enable/disable usage rings
  • show rings always or only on hover
  • customize ring colors and opacity
  • show hover text such as 5h 72% and weekly 41%

A separate external overlay can draw similar rings, but it is structurally limited because the pet and rings are separate windows. That makes drag synchronization, z-order, and display changes harder to keep reliable.

Drawing the rings inside the existing /pet avatar overlay would make the feature feel native and avoid fragile companion-window synchronization.
