Development stalled

Hey,

thanks for your amazing work on this project.
Since the development on tikzplotlib is stalled for 2 years now, I am wondering how to continue this project. Several bugs have PRs that would fix them but are not being merged which makes it a bit inconvinient to use this package.
Of course I know that noone is being paid for this but might it be possible to find a solution such that community provided PRs are being merged to at least keep up with the matplotlib version changes?
