I the repo still alive?

I notice little to no activity, and I'm wondering whether it still makes sense to open issues, or if I should just fork the repository and maintain my own version. If the project is no longer active, it might be helpful to clearly state that in the README so contributors know what to expect. On the other hand, if it’s still alive (which I’d prefer), please let me know.
