Request: mask with path

Can we have a mask with custom close path instead circle or rectangular?

I would like to be able to use an image as a mask over some of the cool included patterns. So the background could be a spiral and the mask would be able to be an interesting fill pattern.

The latest release now has the ability to use an existing layer as a mask.
