Feature Request
Hey Izzy👋
Hope you're doing well! I was looking at the official xemu docs and saw they have two awesome network features that would be incredible on X1Box:
Feature Request: Native UDP Tunnel + XLink Kai Support Network Settings
Helpful Links:
· xemu Networking Docs: https://xemu.app/docs/networking/
· l2tunnel GitHub: https://github.com/mborgerson/l2tunnel/tree/master
Android Library References (for native UDP tunnel implementation):
· sockstun: https://github.com/heiher/sockstun
· tun2proxy-android: https://github.com/reqable/tun2proxy-android
· slipstream-client-android: https://github.com/VortexOne404/slipstream-client-android
· android-tun-vpn: https://github.com/ProgramMan5/android-tun-vpn
How it works on PC xemu:
· UDP Tunnel mode – encapsulates Xbox network traffic into UDP packets, allowing xemu users to play together over the internet
· Bridged Adapter mode – makes the emulated Xbox appear as a real console on your network, which XLink Kai detects automatically
What I'm hoping for on X1Box Android:
· Add UDP Tunnel as a network backend option
· Add Bridged Adapter as another option
· Let us manually enter an IP address and port (e.g., 127.0.0.1:34523)
· This would let us connect to:
· Other X1Box/xemu users directly (UDP Tunnel)
· XLink Kai servers (Bridged Adapter)
Why this would be amazing:
· 142 system-link games become playable online (Tenchu: Return from Darkness, MechAssault, Rainbow Six 3, etc.)
· Cross-platform play – xemu, original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Series X/S can all play together
· No extra hardware – just the emulator and an internet connection
The coolest part: The official xemu docs say the project provides free public UDP tunnel servers for users to play together . Having this on Android would be incredible!
Totally up to you and your priorities – just wanted to share this idea 🙏
Thanks for everything you do for X1Box! 🔥
