Partnet-Mobility License

Hi,

I was hoping to extend and build on the PartNet-Mobility dataset, but the current license precludes me from releasing my own dataset/source code that build off of PartNet-Mobility. Would it be possible to change the license to Apache 2.0? That would allow downstream researchers and developers to openly share their work, which I think would help grow the ecosystem around this dataset.

The license of this dataset probably cannot be changed since we technically do not own the original work. Our license cannot be more permissive than ShapeNet.

We are working on a more proper way to manage the dataset now and soon it should follow how ShapeNet is handled now(with a copy on huggingface and approval process moved there)

For a bit more context, the shapenet license is https://huggingface.co/datasets/ShapeNet/ShapeNetCore, which boils down to non commercial use only. This is similar to PartNet-Mobility.

Is there a specific reason the current licensing is insufficient for AI2?
