How to create a new font from existing ttf font?

Is there any tutorial or tool to create dmd fonts from ttf files?
How can FontCreator can be used for it?
I have tried it but I could not understand how to use it for dmd fonts.

I want to create font for Hindi (devnagari) fonts.
