Cable burning test - UL 1666 - CMR

I work at Lightera, old Furukawa Latam and OFS .
And as a requirement for our cables, we have to proceed some burning tests at external laboratories.
I looked the FDS process to evaluate the fire behavior in an accident.
My question is...is there any reference for burning only cables to emulate the burning behavior of the cables, based on the standard burning tests ?

Hello Kevin, we as a cable manufacturer have to set the cable project, manufacture and proceed to test an external lab. All means time and cost. If we have a condition to simulate the standard burning test with the cable project to check the differences and to change project before the manufacture could be an additional fast and low cost option.

One can simulate the UL 1666 test with FDS, but be warned that it is difficult to do this because you would need to collect detailed information about the thermal and chemical properties of the cable materials. If then, your model may or may not agree with the actual experiment. I would suggest only one who is very knowledgeable in FDS should attempt this.

I imagine the difficult, but I think if we can do a comparison, according to a sample tested can be helpfull.
