pyDevSup end of life?

For some years now I have not had the time or interest to maintain pyDevSup. I would encourage anyone with time and interest in taking up this work to contact me, or just fork this code and go to town.

Otherwise, I think this code has reached the end of its useful life.

Michael, appreciate your great work. I've found it very useful. In the foreseeable future, our site will still be using it.
Anyhow, I've just forked it, in case it gets lost.

BTW, if you could also comment on the alternative solutions, that would be wonderful, thanks.

Tagging in a few recent PR contributors as well - @pheest and @eddybl

I'd be willing to try to help keep pyDevSup alive (compiling/running with newer OS or python versions). It would be nice to have an "official" repository somewhere so those left still using pyDevSup can try to combine contributions and effort. Would that be here or in a fork?

Hey, thanks for the tag, but we are only using pydevsup for one legacy project, as we nowadays tend to go for full Python IOCs if we need Python, so I am not really able to help maintaining this project.

But I would suggest to create a new home in the epics-modules group: https://github.com/epics-modules

ah, I forgot that my PR is still open! So I can very much help bring that PR over the line, especially in combination with #33. and if the interest is there also contribute to updating the Debian files ( #21 ), if the future maintainers want to keep that support
