Hello, I am trying out this program and I am finding it quite refreshing coming from NVIVO.
However, I got confused when I typed qc code -1 enrico or qc code -1 --pattern [pattern] enrico, or qc code --random enrico, the behavior was different than what I read on here: https://qualitative-coding.readthedocs.io/en/latest/manuscript.html#code. From the text, I thought that the default behaviour of --first etc were to open an uncoded file. When I typed qc code --help I understood that an additional flag -u is needed.
Since this may confuse other new users of qc (and especially users not familiar with CLI tools), my suggestion would be to update the documentation explaning the need of the --uncoded (or -u) flag, or to make it more clear that more options are available.
