FW crashes when I try to add Bulk Edit python module for Chinese 2 Tonenumber

I can't tell if this is a Flextools issue or a FieldWorks issue. I suppose it could also be an EncConverters issue. Or other....

In FW, I want to add the Bulk Edit python scripts for Chinese 2 Tonenumber and for Numberic Pinyin 2 Latin. When following the instructions in Chinese Utilities Help, I get to the step for Save in System Repository. When I click that button, FLEx crashes and the Bulk Edit setup fails. The behavior is the same for FW 9.2 stable and for FW 9.3.7.

Python version 3.12.5
FLExTools version 2025.8.26
FieldWorks 9.2 stable and FW 9.3.7

My FlexTools folder is located at C:\Users\xxxxx\FLExTools and it is fully updated using the InstallorUpdate script.

I haven't used this functionality for a long time, so I don't know when it was last working.
On my system with FW 9.3.6 I'm getting an error about not defining a mapping file when adding any Python converter as a temporary converter. I've reported this here.
