[FR]: Improve keyboard UX: Focus search input with Ctrl+F in Tasknotes views #1544

Feature Description

Hi 👋
first of all, thanks for the great Tasknotes plugin – I’m using it a lot!

I’d like to suggest a small but very helpful UX improvement regarding keyboard navigation and search.

Feature Request

In Tasknotes views that include a search input (e.g. Calendar view, and other views with filters/search), pressing Ctrl+F should automatically:

1.Focus the view’s search input
2.Place the cursor inside the input
3.Allow typing immediately (without any extra click)

Currently, Ctrl+F triggers nothing

Why this is useful

  • Much faster keyboard-based workflow
  • Consistent behavior across Tasknotes views
  • Matches common UX patterns for search in Obsidian and other apps
  • Especially helpful for power users and heavy task management

Expected behavior

  • When a Tasknotes view with a search/filter input is active:
Ctrl+F focuses the local search input

-When no local search exists:
Default Obsidian behavior remains unchanged

Optional enhancement

  • Also support Cmd+F on macOS
  • Maybe visually highlight the search box when focused via shortcut

Thanks for considering this feature!
