Photo Gallery

We're working on a layout for the gallery. We'll need a set of photos to implement.... Ideally, saved for web, uniformly sized.

I made a new dropbox dir and took the liberty of optimizing the images:

The optimized-for-gallery dir contains resized all to a max height or width (depending on orientation) of 1280px. They were also run through ImageOptim with lossy jpg compression at 80%. I think the result is pretty good. The total size of all 58 images is 7.3M while the originals were 703M.

The optimized-for-hero dir contains the 5 listed above optimized for the hero slider.

I'm planning on installing and implementing PhotoSwipe to handle the UI.

I'm still looking for a solution to handle the lightbox-style user interface. I've installed both PhotoSwipe and blueimp Gallery, and wasn't able to get either to work properly.

It doesn't sound like it would solve the problems I was having, but it would probably make maintaining PhotoSwipe and updating the photo gallery easier after all other problems are solved.

I need to try to install PhotoSwipe again before I can give really specific information, but I think my problems were with the positioning of various elements, rather than configuration and dealing with Markdown vs HTML and such. I think I just powered through that (MD v. HTML) with a little extra JavaScript -- but even then I think I required a specific naming convention for each picture.
