Web development best practices with NB

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there are any (modern) best practices for using NB for web development, especially with the PHP/HTML/JS/CSS stack, since most online resources seem to be quite outdated and the netbeans connector extension for chrome does not seem to be available anymore.

Currently, my workflow is:

1. Make code changes in NetBeans.
2. Automatically upload changes to a target server on save via Project Run Configuration.
3. Manually refresh the page in the browser to view changes.

While this gives me an okay experience, I wanted to ask you about your approaches for a better development experience overall.

So it depends on what project type you use. If you use PHP you can upload PHP files to a remote server, if you have an HTML project, this is unfrotunately not possible, so you need to make a PHP project out of it. But you can make code changes and see the result in the browser, if you run your applicaton via vite with HMR enabled. So you dont need to manually refresh the page if you run vite or webpack with HMR.
