Repay the `algorithm.ts` technical debt

Defining new components and expressions is a chore.

I need to write some good abstractions for emplacement, removal, mutation, etc. algorithms and remove the giant switch statements.

Maybe It'll stop TypeScript yelling at me in the process 😉.
