I wouldn't recommend this as ProjectTool manages the project format, which needs to match with the IDE and Asset Compiler...

We already have a QA routine for testing ProjectTool before pushing to production, and we always recommend users install and use the latest ProjectTool as it need to know the highest format to be able to convert, so this should be safe to always take the latest production version.

Was mostly afraid of breaking changes to the public API of the tools breaking gm-cli (even though I imagine it's pretty stable).

Probably more important then to make it possible to point at pre-release versions of ProjectTool etc. for QA to test with the CLI. I'll rename this issue accordingly.

Just adding a reminder that the tools that would need this are:

• ProjectTool
• ResourceTool
• PackageTool
• GMPM

of which ProjectTool is perhaps the most important due to it's direct use within the IDE
