Menu widget : removing an entire word with ctrl+del

As is, the menu doesn’t delete an entire word when pressing ctrl del. I’m not sure if this is tied to gtk or would need additional logic, but i would find it nice.

Just for clarity, do you mean backspace or literally del?

The code for the entry is here, We attach a keyboard-key event handler to the whole popover and perform everything from there. If it doesn't get nabbed by this it continues on to the rest of the child widgets.

Sorry, i did mean backspace ! although, del as well, ideally.
I would have assumed it was more a standard/default think, though reading the code and actually testing it out, i notice it also leads to the last letter (far right) being removed, even if the cursor is not on the far right.

if i’m understanding correctly, it’s because the « typing » is handled by the gestures attached to the menu as a whole ? I’d presume it’s so you can type without having to actually have the text input focused, but wouldn’t a simpler way that doesn’t have this downside be to have the text input grab focus when something is typed ? Asking before trying to figure out because i trust in your gtk expertise :P

Initially I had attempted to use focus on entry to streamline this, but I ran into all sorts of different problems with then being unable to navigate app list with arrow keys.

By all means, if you're up for a challenge, give this a few pokes and see if you get a more favorable set of bugs :D

Hahahaha. Probably will at some point then, but can’t say it will be soon. we’ll see :)
