Derive database-specific coding system

Objective: compare the codes of a coding system in CodeMapper with the codes used in a databases to verify that all database codes are covered by CodeMapper, and derive a database-specific coding systems otherwise.

This can be accomplished by the following steps:

1. Download a list of all codes of a coding system X in a CSV file (format code,code_name)
2. Identify codes in database Y that are not included in the code list from step 1 (format code,code_name)
3. Assign database-specific codes to concepts
4. Create a new coding system in CodeMapper
   • set name to X-Y
   • select "Derive from coding system X"
   • input database-specific codes
5. The derived coding system X-Y becomes available as standard coding system in CodeMapper

Questions

• This approach can be used to "translate" coding systems: identify also code with a different code name in step 2, and let the names of database-specific codes override the names of the base coding system.
