Question: can this mod apply to other rom hacks like MOTHER 2: Perfect Edition?

Sorry, this is a question rather than an issue. I couldn't find a better place to ask.

Does this patch requires a vanilla earthbound rom? Does it require a specific hash of a rom? Can it be applied upon other rom hacks, like MOTHER 2: Perfect Edition?

Only compatible with a vanilla earthbound rom for now. It would be possible to combine with other hacks if they also have a fully open source coilsnake project as well, but even then it would be tricky to account for conflicts while merging, so I haven’t tried yet

Thanks for the answer! I really like the QoL changes in this mod. Is there any plan in the future to incorporate the re-localizations from other hacks like the MOTHER 2: Perfect Edition?

Hmm… I would like to, but since I don’t see an open source repository for the mod, I would need to reach out to the creator and see if they’re down to collaborate. Until then, the best I can do is integrating with MaternalBound, which it seems like they also borrowed from, but we’ll have to see what happens. Been busy with some other projects too lately so I’m still not sure if/when I’ll come back to this

The MOTHER 2: Perfect Edition hack actually has the CoilSnake source code included in the forum post. The author welcomed others to continue working on the code. The forum needs registration to access, so I attached the code file here. I don't know anything about CoilSnake. Hope this can help.
