A fun part of the MCX interface is the 'map'. You click it, see the nodes, and think "hey i want to show off my node".
However, unless I'm missing something, going in the settings, and clicking "Map defaults, tiles, offline mode, and remote overlay limits" > then editing the map settings to 'manual', and inputting your lat/long does absolutely nothing to add your node to the map. Nothing at all ever happens.
This leads users to think 'hey maybe i need to be a transport node?" or "hey maybe i need to be a propagation node?". AFAIK, based on my limited understanding, neither is true. In theory, however, MCX should be editing the interface files in config, add a TCP one, set it to discoverable, and specify lat/long in there. And i triple checked, and it certainly doesn't do that. Note this is just a theory of what i thought MCX would do, hence why I didn't post this in 'feature requests'.
But yeah, despite filling in my details, inputting my lat/long manually - my humble node never appear on the map. It's not a transport/propagation node, i don't host a nomad page, i just wanted to be on the maps.
Can anyone shed light on this, or should i report it as an OSX issue?
