NeverC Progress

Current snapshot — 2026-10-24

  • Cutoff: 2026-10-24T00:59:37Z. Reviewed dev: 54737387a0b8374b6bd6649d45835925278fa738.
  • Incoming range: 45 commits / 132 net changed paths, all 45 commit entries retrieved. Excluding yesterday's report-only commit f511791a and this progress path leaves 44 non-report commits / 131 paths; these include diagnostic and merged histories, not 44 independently qualified features.
  • No new statically proven compiler/runtime bug and no source repair. This proposal updates only the progress snapshot and daily record. It is submitted through a draft PR, not directly into dev.
  • Read root AGENTS, README contribution guidance, local-development and CI-policy documents, and the MPX section of the development guide. Complete neverc, tests, .github, llvm/include and llvm/lib subtree inventories contain no nested AGENTS/CONTRIBUTING files. The full repository recursive request failed; unrelated subtrees are not represented as checked.
  • Strict static-only scope overrides execution instructions. No project, build, test, benchmark, repository script, sample or manual CI action was executed.

Activity and review queue

At the pre-publication cutoff: 9 ordinary open issues / 0 open PRs. All-state issue and PR collections returned 19 and 9 entries, followed by empty second pages. Since 2026-10-23T01:00:58Z, there are no new ordinary issues, closures, new PRs or merges; interval issue and PR-review comment collections are empty. Yesterday's #21 merge remains historical, not new progress.

This review adds one documentation-only draft PR after that baseline. Its blockers are independent review and the exact PR-head documentation checks. No issue states, labels, assignees or existing reviews were changed. The repository contribution guide directs PRs to dev; an unprotected branch is not treated as explicit direct-write permission.

Bounded static review

  • Bit-cast source representation: read the changed parser and semantic implementation in neverc/lib/Syntax/Expr/ExprParserLiteral.cpp and neverc/lib/Analyze/Expr/SemaCast.cpp, the declaration/call patch, and the existing CK_LValueToRValueBitCast scalar consumer in neverc/lib/Emit/Expr/ScalarEmitter.cpp. Traced object/completeness/size gates, nonvolatile array address retention, volatile/rvalue materialization, source-address alignment and may-alias loading. Inspected both added tests/neverc/ConformanceTests.cpp fixture bodies, including nested arrays, once-only evaluation, volatile bytes and invalid destination contracts. This is not execution evidence or proof of all padding/constant-evaluation/aggregate cases.
  • Native MPX controls and transport: reviewed the MPX builtin signatures, new semantic bank/address-control gates, selected direct intrinsic-emission cases, the complete lowerMPXState helper, descriptor masks in llvm/include/llvm/IR/X86MpxState.h and address validator in llvm/include/llvm/IR/X86NativeMemoryAddress.h. Traced constant bank bounds, 64-bit target restriction, explicit address width/segment controls, full-register transport and instruction chain/glue.
  • MPX machine output: inspected changed lowerMPXState and preserveMPXBounds paths in llvm/lib/Target/X86/X86MCInstLower.cpp, including descriptor rejection, physical bank selection, branch prefix application and XRay refusal. Inspected the added MPX positive/invalid-control/order fixture source in tests/neverc/X86PrivilegedIntrinTests.cpp. No claim is made that generated tables, every control-transfer path, silicon behavior or ABI preservation were exhaustively verified.
  • Read development.md's explicit MPX QEMU exclusions and outstanding hardware qualification. Commit-message claims of controlled encoding/ABI cases, compiler tests and binary regressions remain author-reported, not tests performed by this review.
  • Documentation failure: read the exact-head failed navigation log and corroborated the relevant development-guide source. It reports 23 repository-path references without links in that guide. This is a confirmed documentation/CI blocker, not a newly proven compiler bug. No unrelated guide or workflow was changed.
  • Remaining not_fn/custom-negation changes, other privileged instruction families, full generated-table synchronization, linker/runtime modules and the historical piecewise publication uncertainty are outside this bounded pass. No old uncertain write was retried.

Existing CI, exact head only

Sampled 2026-10-24T00:57:56Z–2026-10-24T00:58:19Z for 54737387. Complete workflow/check collections include empty second pages.

  • 11 workflows: 1 success, 1 failure, 8 in progress and 1 queued.
  • 22 checks: 6 success, 1 failure, 11 in progress and 4 queued.
  • lint-docs run 40045022901: check-docs-facts succeeded; navigation job 120724664321 failed. Its full log shows 16 layout tests passed, followed by the 23 development-guide link diagnostics. These are observed existing CI results, not locally run tests.
  • lint-generated-td run 40045022852 succeeded, including options, diagnostic-group and x86-intrinsic synchronization checks. This does not establish native MPX hardware correctness.
  • Native platform builds and VBS differential work remain in progress. Python bindings run 40045022906 is queued overall with active/queued children and a successful artifact-policy check; it is not a bindings pass.
  • New-head results do not resolve or reproduce yesterday's failed installation/plugin-state jobs by assumption. Report-only PR checks are separate from this source-head snapshot.

Suggested priorities

  1. Repair the development-guide navigation references without weakening checks. Dependency: the 23 exact-head diagnostics and existing target files. Acceptance: preserve prose/commands, make the references navigable, and obtain exact-head documentation-check results through the normal contribution process.
  2. Complete platform and MPX qualification evidence. Dependency: completed exact-head automatic CI and a documented hardware/model boundary. Acceptance: separate encoding/transport from successful architectural execution and explicitly retain QEMU exclusions and unqualified physical-hardware cases.
  3. Extend the bounded compiler review before broader release claims. Dependency: bit-cast aggregate/constant-evaluator consumers and MPX control-transfer/generated-schema ownership. Acceptance: independently inspect the remaining boundaries and record a concrete counterexample before any repair; no guessed widening of supported behavior.

NeverC Progress

Current snapshot — 2026-10-23

  • Cutoff: 2026-10-23T01:00:58Z. Reviewed dev: 8ba280aec7838fde4c48cc827e2aa1a1e2d2e18d.
  • The comparison since the previous reviewed implementation contains 156 commits / 60 changed paths. Both commit pages were retrieved (100/56). This includes merged diagnostic histories, not 156 independent product features. The prior report-only commit and PROGRESS.md change are excluded from product progress.
  • Yesterday's artifact-policy serialization repair PR #21 was merged externally at 2026-10-22T11:09:50Z, merge commit 78898d78. This review did not merge it and does not duplicate it.
  • No new compiler/runtime defect was statically established; no source repair was submitted. This update changes only the progress document.
  • Read root AGENTS.md, README contribution guidance, docs/local-dev.md, .github/ci-policy.md and relevant repository skill guides. Root and complete neverc/lib, tests/neverc and utils/ci subtree inventories contain no additional AGENTS/CONTRIBUTING files. The full repository recursive-tree request failed, so unrelated subtrees are not represented as checked. dev is the default, push-enabled, unprotected branch; the returned ruleset is disabled.
  • Strict static-only limits override execution guidance: no project, build, test, benchmark, repository script, dynamic analysis or manual CI action was run.

Activity and review queue

At the cutoff: 9 ordinary open issues / 0 open PRs. Complete all-state issue and PR inventories returned 19 and 9 entries, respectively, followed by empty second pages. Since 2026-10-22T01:05:23Z, no ordinary issue opened or closed; no new PR opened; one PR (#21) merged and no other PR closed. Interval issue comments and PR review comments were empty. #21 has no submitted reviews in the returned review list. There is no active PR awaiting review; unresolved CI evidence remains a release-readiness concern. No issue state, label or assignee was changed.

Bounded static review

  • Frontend.cpp, changed not_fn path and local callers: read functionalInvocabilitySource, functionalNotFnInvokeBinding, functionalFunctionInvokeSource, traverseNotFnFactory, traverseNotFnCall and emitted record offsets. Checked the exact owned root and SDK declaration binding, original noexcept-expression guards, arity/parameter bounds, forwarding/type checks, separate signature/exception/runtime obligations, and once-only traversal of the original receiver and arguments. Checked the new NotFn offset entry against the admitted pointer-storage branch. This is not proof of all AST shapes or target ABI behavior.
  • MathSDK.cpp, selected source-proof boundaries: read bindNotFnOwnedInputAliases, NotFnPointerSourceProof factory/publicInvokeSources/callDefaults and the public wrapper/storage predicates. Traced the SourceAlias callback through the matching Frontend.h declaration and frontend call. Reviewed bounded alias traversal, retained default occurrence identity, selected helper binding, separate public invocation deduction and reference qualification, and scoped cleanup of proof state. The full 1,856-line aggregate MathSDK delta and other graph helpers were not exhaustively audited.
  • Regression source: read the five new TranslateTests.cpp not_fn fixture bodies and their standalone five-addition source, NotFnRegisteredGTestsTests.py, not_fn_registered_gtests.py, FrontendReplayProtocolTests.py and FrontendProtocolDriver.cpp. Inspected preservation/hash checks and the request/--output/environment contract. These sources describe checks; none were executed here, and their declared counts/hashes were not independently recomputed.
  • Replay tooling: read the complete check-cpp-current216-elf-combined-808.py and changed private-runtime downloader hunks. Inspected fixed source/producer/artifact identity checks, bounded subprocess handling, response acceptance/refusal checks and invocation inventory. Did not download or execute an artifact. The new workflow wiring was read, not changed.
  • Large Frontend.cpp and MathSDK.cpp content reads initially returned empty content; immutable blob reads recovered the full text used for the selected sections above. Unrelated compiler, linker/runtime, SDK parity, remaining diagnostic scripts and historical piecewise publication uncertainty remain outside this pass. No resolution of the historical uncertain write is claimed; it was not retried.

Existing CI, exact heads only

Sampled 2026-10-23T00:59:08Z–2026-10-23T01:00:58Z for 8ba280ae. These are GitHub's existing/automatic observations, not tests run by this review. Complete run/check inventories include empty second pages.

  • 12 workflows: 3 success, 1 failure, 5 in progress and 3 queued at sampling. The Python workflow's overall queued state does not hide its already failed Linux-x64 child.
  • 57 checks: 11 success, 2 failure, 7 in progress, 5 queued and 32 skipped.
  • Linux ARM64 run 39852837848, job 120147850984: Build neverc succeeded; Install neverc failed; packaging and later tests were skipped. The full job-log request returned Transport closed, so the root cause is not established.
  • Python bindings run 39852838233, Linux-x64 job 120151472089: Check plugin global state (Linux) failed. Its full log also returned Transport closed. The Linux-ARM64 bindings child and Official artifact policy check succeeded; remaining platform children are running/queued. This is not a full bindings pass.
  • Source diagnostic run 39852838040 is successful but comprises one source-metadata job and 32 skipped jobs. In particular, its combined-808 and not_fn diagnostic jobs were skipped at this head. Commit-message claims about 216 requests, 129 GTests and generated/native products are author-reported, not independently validated by this pass.

Suggested priorities

  1. Diagnose the two current failed CI jobs before treating artifacts as ready. Dependency: readable exact-head full logs. Acceptance: identify the failing command/root cause and retain platform-specific evidence; do not infer a shared cause from similar status.
  2. Close the not_fn regression evidence gap. Dependency: completed exact-revision frontend/generated-program and combined-808 results with source/artifact lineage. Acceptance: distinguish the newly admitted pointer/signature slice from unsupported callable forms and verify the preserved pair regression obligations; metadata-only success is insufficient.
  3. Continue a bounded source-proof and lowering review. Dependency: the current not_fn descriptor, graph and lowering interfaces. Acceptance: document concrete invariants and any counterexample before proposing a minimal repair, including alias/default occurrence and lifetime/ABI boundaries. No delivery date or completion percentage is implied.

  • Since the previous report commit e13b9b1d, the comparison contains 316 commits / 209 changed paths. All four commit pages were retrieved (100/100/100/16). This includes merged branch and diagnostic history, not 316 independent product features. PROGRESS.md has no net change in this range; report maintenance is not product progress.
  • Confirmed and proposed one artifact-policy/YAML serialization repair, in draft PR #21, commit b3833cad. It is not merged into dev. No compiler/runtime defect was newly proven in the bounded source sample.
  • Read root AGENTS.md, README contribution guidance, docs/local-dev.md and .github/ci-policy.md. No root CONTRIBUTING.md; complete neverc, tests, pluginsdk, .github and .agents subtree inventories contain no nested AGENTS/CONTRIBUTING files. dev is default, push-enabled and unprotected; the returned ruleset is disabled.
  • Strict static-only restriction overrides execution guidance: no project, build, test, benchmark, repository script, dynamic analysis or manual CI action was run.

Activity and review queue

Before this review: 9 ordinary open issues / 0 open PRs, unchanged since 2026-10-21T01:08:00Z. Complete all-state inventories returned 18 issue entries (including historical PRs) and 8 PRs, with empty second pages; interval issue comments and PR review comments were empty. No pre-existing opening, closure or merge was found.

This review opened draft #21, making the queue 9 ordinary open issues / 1 open draft PR. It has no reviews or requested reviewers at the cutoff. Its blocker is independent review and completed exact-head CI, not an assumed approval. No issue states, labels or assignees were changed.

Bounded static review and repair evidence

  • Session.cpp / Session.h: reviewed the complete current files and changed ownership logic: context-owned worker-cache records, constructor allocation before TLS mutation, guard save/restore, physical-thread slot lookup, fallback allocator storage, worker join before cleanup, cache invalidation and abandon restoration. Traced callers through LinkerParallel.h and Allocator.h. Reviewed SessionCacheOwnershipTests.cpp fixtures for nested unwind, reused context addresses, cache overflow, cleanup order, concurrent contexts and crash/abandon restoration. Fixtures were not executed; thread safety and ABI compatibility are not certified.
  • FastLink.cpp / FastLinkSupport.h: reviewed aggregate invocation-ownership and capture changes plus the worker-pool section, including serial and exceptional ordinal restoration. Read FastLinkRequestIsolation.cpp fixture source for serial, nested, concurrent and declined requests. Did not audit every relocation, parser, mapping or allocation path.
  • Mach-O: read DataConst.h and MachODataConstTests.cpp, and changed MachODriver.cpp/MachOImageEmitter.cpp hunks. Checked special-image default cases and preservation of explicit policy delegation; inspected the new per-atom TLV alignment adjustment. Full object emission and runtime loading remain unverified.
  • Python artifact gate, confirmed issue: the exact dev job 119339874215 reports three textual-policy failures. The scanner requires a quoted 3.12.10 token and literal whitespace around archive verifier arguments; the diagnostic workflow already contains the same version and verifier commands as unquoted/escaped YAML. Read the full scanner and relevant workflow source to establish the mismatch.
  • Minimal repair in #21: quote the unchanged ARM64 producer version and replace only two double-quoted escaped command scalars with literal blocks. Statically decoded the old scalars and compared both command strings byte-for-byte with the replacement block values. The complete remote file, parent and three-hunk diff were re-read and verified: one file, +9/-5. No policy requirement, command, archive name, step, trigger, permission or dependency was changed. No scanner or test was executed.
  • SDK source comparison shows new KEEP_UNWIND/HOSTED constants and matching source-digest text in the header/manifest; the Python abi.py retrieval returned empty content, so complete generated-SDK parity is not established.
  • The very large translator Lowering/Frontend/MathSDK changes, diagnostic tooling, remaining 209-path delta and unrelated modules are not exhaustively reviewed. The historical uncertain piecewise publication was not retried and no resolution of its exact prior write is claimed. Previous output-stream concern remains unconfirmed and was not re-audited.

Existing CI, exact heads only

Sampled 2026-10-22T01:02:03Z–2026-10-22T01:05:23Z; these are GitHub's existing/automatic results, not tests executed by this review.

  • dev 3348b873: 10 completed workflow runs: 2 success / 3 failure / 5 cancelled. All 28 checks: 3 success / 3 failure / 5 cancelled / 17 skipped; both second pages empty.
  • Python bindings run 39634113625 fails at its artifact-policy gate; downstream matrix/OFF jobs are skipped. The complete gate log supports the serialization diagnosis above.
  • Linux ARM64 run 39634113620, job 119340498851, fails at Install neverc. Linux x64 run 39634113773, job 119340376775, fails at Fail if tests failed. Both full log calls returned transport errors; their root causes remain unknown.
  • The successful diagnostic workflow has only its metadata check successful and many inspection jobs skipped; its success is not evidence that all diagnostic suites ran. Windows/macOS cancellations do not prove build recovery. Old C1053/global-state/sanitizer failures are not attributed to this new source head without current evidence.
  • PR #21 head b3833cad: 16 automatic workflow records at sampling: 7 running / 2 queued / 7 skipped. Check sampling already shows one Official artifact policy success, while another event's gate and matrix checks are queued. This is partial external evidence only; no complete build/test pass is claimed. Push and PR event records must not be conflated. No workflow was manually triggered, rerun or disabled.

Suggested priorities (not delivery commitments)

  1. Review #21 and wait for exact-head validation. Dependency: reviewer and automatic artifact-policy/affected CI results. Acceptance: confirm serialization-only semantics and passing required checks before an authorized merge; do not weaken the scanner.
  2. Diagnose current Linux failures. Dependency: full diagnostics for jobs 119340498851 and 119340376775. Acceptance: identify actual install/test failure before proposing a minimal fix; do not substitute older-head causes.
  3. Complete targeted review of merged translation and SDK boundaries. Dependency: complete Lowering/Frontend/MathSDK and generated abi.py retrieval, selected source/provenance callers and historical publication reconciliation. Acceptance: documented bounded evidence and separately authorized validation for any proven repair.

NeverC Progress

Current snapshot — 2026-10-21

  • Cutoff: 2026-10-21T01:08:00Z. Current dev: 6a3c501e; last implementation source remains ee83c2e1.
  • The complete ee83c2e1…6a3c501e comparison contains 2 documentation-only commits / 1 path (PROGRESS.md). There is no new implementation delta; report maintenance is not product progress.
  • No newly proven source defect and no source/test repair submitted. Rotated the bounded static review into plugin output publication and VFS validation rather than claiming another full repository scan.
  • Read root AGENTS.md, README contribution guidance, docs/local-dev.md and .github/ci-policy.md. Root inventory contains no CONTRIBUTING.md; complete neverc and tests subtree inventories contain no nested AGENTS/CONTRIBUTING files. dev remains default, push-enabled and unprotected; the returned ruleset remains disabled.
  • Strict static-only scope overrides repository execution guidance: no project execution, builds, tests, benchmarks, repository scripts, dynamic analysis or manually triggered CI. Existing CI below is external evidence, not validation run by this review.

Activity and review queue

9 ordinary open issues / 0 open PRs, unchanged. All-state issues and PR inventories were fully paginated (18 issue entries including historical PRs; 8 PRs; empty second pages). No issue/PR opening, closure or merge after the previous cutoff, 2026-10-20T01:07:00Z. Repository issue comments and PR review-comment collections since that cutoff were empty. There is no open PR awaiting review. Roadmap issues #7–#12 and #16–#18 remain plans, not implementation completion.

Actual static coverage and limits

Reviewed unchanged source pinned to the current dev tree:

  • neverc/lib/Plugin/IO/OutputSink.cpp and OutputSink.h: read sink creation, task/scope and handle validation, byte/name/metadata validation, caller-record capacity handling, finish/seal creation, host-only commit/abort, publication-summary translation and task-end abort path. Traced the state adapter to OutputTransaction declarations/implementation.
  • neverc/lib/Foundation/Core/OutputTransaction.cpp and its public header: read write/writeAt/truncate budget checks, state transitions, staging write/flush error handling, sync failures and abort, publication/keep failure branches, durability flags, idempotent commit and memory snapshot gating. No execution or cross-platform durability guarantee established.
  • neverc/lib/Plugin/IO/PluginFileSystem.cpp and header: selectively inspected route recursion/depth guards, provider status/header validation, open-read buffer copying and length/type agreement, directory result validation and error propagation. Remaining VFS methods, callback concurrency and all backing-platform implementations are not exhaustively audited.
  • tests/neverc/PluginOutputSinkTests.cpp: read selected fixture source for finish-without-publication, exactly-once host commit, random-access/truncate/abort, file publication, task/path aliases, cancellation and injected staging/sync/cleanup failures. Fixtures were not run and do not prove runtime behavior.
  • A complete Lowering.cpp read again could not be obtained: the contents call returned an empty body with blob metadata and the raw fallback failed. The historical piecewise publication outcome remains unresolved; no old uncertain write was retried and no repair is claimed.
  • The stream adapter's unconditional success after generic stream write/flush deserves a focused contract review with concrete bound-stream types and failure evidence. This is an unconfirmed concern, not a diagnosed bug; no speculative change was made.
  • Unrelated compiler, translation, ABI, runtime, linker and target modules remain outside this pass. Absence of a proven defect in this sample is not a repository-wide correctness finding.

Existing CI, separated by exact head

Sampled 2026-10-21T01:06:47Z–2026-10-21T01:07:34Z, using existing GitHub records only.

  • At current documentation head 6a3c501ea92bbfb1ae7e8783769ec5f817fe1818, the complete workflow inventory has 9 completed runs: 8 success / 1 failure; the complete check inventory has 10 checks: 9 success / 1 failure. Both second pages are empty.
  • The failed plugin-sanitizers run 39418328613, ASan/UBSan job 118612714104, built the plugin tests successfully and failed at “Run plugin tests under asan-ubsan”; resource-budget/fuzzer steps were skipped. Its TSan OFF job succeeded. Full failing-log retrieval returned a transport error; no specific assertion, memory defect or root cause is inferred.
  • The other eight current-head runs cover plugin/merge/TLS/network fuzzing, protocol interoperability and GKI checks. Their success is not a native compiler build result.
  • At unchanged last implementation head ee83c2e1916cb640d6791f56648f99af41b681aa, the fully paginated workflow inventory remains 20 completed runs: 11 success / 6 failure / 3 cancelled. Earlier exact-head MSVC ARM64 C1053 and Python global-state diagnostics remain historical evidence, not newly reproduced findings. No implementation change or passing native rebuild has closed those gaps.
  • The two heads have different triggered workflow sets; comparing raw totals does not measure improvement. Documentation-only pushes skip platform builds under current CI policy. This document's subsequent commit is not included in the source-head sample.

Suggested priorities (not delivery commitments)

  1. Diagnose the current ASan/UBSan failure from the exact job log. Dependency: accessible diagnostics for job 118612714104 and its configuration. Acceptance: identify the actual failing test/assertion/report before proposing a minimal repair; obtain separately authorized runtime validation afterward.
  2. Resolve the retained MSVC ARM64 compiler-size blocker. Dependency: exact implementation-head C1053 context and authorized build validation. Acceptance: minimal semantics-preserving change plus a successful MSVC ARM64 build at that change's own head; no broad refactor is prescribed here.
  3. Close bounded output/translation proof gaps. Dependency: concrete stream error contract and a complete Lowering.cpp/producer/caller read, including confirmation of the earlier piecewise publication state. Acceptance: classify each concern with evidence and avoid duplicate or speculative patches.

  • Cutoff: 2026-10-20T01:07:00Z. Reviewed dev source: ee83c2e1, authored October 19 at 10:04:33 UTC.
  • Incoming ecfd4a0b…ee83c2e1: 3 commits / 20 paths. Excluding the previous progress-only commit dd16d741 and PROGRESS.md, the product delta is 2 implementation commits / 19 paths. Complete inventory does not mean complete code coverage.
  • No newly proven source defect, and no source/test repair submitted in this review. The historical piecewise sampling-order finding remains an unresolved carry-forward item; its earlier publication outcome is not certified here and the uncertain write was not retried.
  • Strict static inspection only. No project execution, repository scripts, builds, tests, benchmarks, dynamic analysis, or manually triggered CI. Author validation statements are not independent validation.
  • Read root AGENTS.md, README contribution guidance, docs/local-dev.md and .github/ci-policy.md. No root CONTRIBUTING.md. Complete non-truncated neverc/tests tree inventories contain no nested AGENTS/CONTRIBUTING files. dev is default, push-enabled and unprotected; the returned ruleset is disabled. Repository execution guidance does not override the static-only restriction.

Activity and review queue

9 ordinary open issues / 0 open PRs, unchanged from the October 19 snapshot. All-state issues returned 18 entries including historical PRs; all-state PRs returned eight; both second pages at 100/page were empty. No opening, closure or merge since October 19 01:02 UTC. Issue comments and PR review comments in that interval were empty. No open PR awaits review. Open roadmap issues #7–#12 and #16–#18 are not evidence of completed implementations.

Product changes and actual static coverage

The two source commits extend the C++ translation adapter with selected pair factories/reference wrappers and selected default initialization. NeverC remains a C23-only compiler.

  • Frontend.cpp and Frontend.h: reviewed aggregate changed source/declarations for exact pair-factory selection, selected child construction, SDK source identity, default string/view origin checks and reference-query admission. Traced construction/factory-specific cache keys through source publication and final completion checks: the key includes the public factory call rather than only the shared SDK return construction.
  • MathSDK.cpp: selectively reviewed changed pair record/reference admission, selected defaults and selected-copy producers, pinned SDK forwarding checks, default allocator/owner/string query proofs, and make_pair construction/selection entry points. Checked that selected defaults return two nullable child entries after field uniqueness/type checks, and that factory entry points bind their retained SDK construction to the public call. This is a bounded review of changed paths, not an exhaustive audit of the 790-line aggregate change or all query-graph branches.
  • Lowering.cpp: reviewed the complete changed hunk: each pair field uses its selected child constructor when a two-entry selection exists and otherwise uses zero initialization. Cross-checked the producer contract and corresponding declaration/caller changes. A full raw-file retrieval was unavailable in this pass, so surrounding unchanged lowering code was not re-audited.
  • TranslateTests.cpp: read selected added positive/negative fixture source for owned default fields, scalar/null defaults, repeated factory selections, reference wrappers, custom deleters and source/noexcept provenance rejection. Fixtures were not executed; their presence does not certify behavior.
  • Inventoried all 20 changed paths, including 11 localized translation documents and three frontend documentation files. Those documentation changes, remaining MathSDK query-graph branches, unrelated modules/architectures and full runtime/lifetime behavior are outside the detailed code-review scope.

No minimum, behavior-preserving source repair was established from this bounded inspection. Existing CI failures below are observations, not newly diagnosed source defects.

Existing CI, pinned to the reviewed source

Sampled October 20 around 01:04–01:06 UTC for ee83c2e1916cb640d6791f56648f99af41b681aa, dev only; there are no open PR heads. Workflow and check collections were completely paginated (second pages empty).

  • 20 workflow runs: 11 successful, 6 failed, 3 cancelled; none queued/running.
  • 34 check runs: 23 successful, 7 failed, 3 cancelled, 1 skipped. Workflow and job/check counts describe different objects.
  • Windows ARM64 MSVC, job 118002107669: the retrieved log ends with fatal C1053, FunctionLowering::utilityOperation: function too large, Lowering.cpp line 5646, followed by ninja failure. This confirms the compiler-size blocker at this exact head; no fix or successful rebuild is claimed.
  • Python bindings: Linux x64 job 118002568078 failed at “Check plugin global state (Linux)”; Windows ARM64 job 118002568112 failed at the compiler/Python bridge/core-tests/SDK build step. Other six jobs succeeded. Linux job log retrieval failed with a transport error, so the underlying global-state diagnostic is unknown.
  • Plugin sanitizers: ASan/UBSan ON job 118094584495 failed at “Run plugin tests under asan-ubsan”; TSan OFF job succeeded. Failed-job log retrieval had a transport error; do not infer a specific memory defect.
  • Other failed workflows: Linux ARM64, macOS ARM64, Linux x64. Their failure causes were not independently diagnosed here.
  • Cancelled: Windows ARM64 clang-LTO, Windows x64 clang-LTO, Windows x64 MSVC. Cancellation is not a successful or failed test result.
  • Compared with yesterday's still-running source-head sample, the new head now has terminal results. Different heads and workflow sets prevent interpreting the count difference as a measured regression rate. The progress-document commit itself is excluded from product progress.

These are read-only GitHub results, not checks executed by this review.

Recommended priorities

  1. Resolve the MSVC ARM64 oversized-function build blocker. Dependency: exact failed-head compiler diagnostic and an independently authorized build environment. Acceptance: a minimal, semantics-preserving change with explicit source review and a succeeding MSVC ARM64 build at its own head; no broad refactor is prescribed by this static pass.
  2. Recover and diagnose the Python global-state and ASan/UBSan logs. Dependency: accessible failing-job diagnostics and their exact source revisions/configuration. Acceptance: identify the actual failing assertion/symbol/report before proposing a targeted repair, then obtain authorized validation. A failed step alone is insufficient evidence of its cause.
  3. Close pair-selection and historical piecewise proof gaps. Dependency: complete producer/caller context, targeted fixture review, and remote confirmation of the earlier piecewise publication state. Acceptance: document exact construction/factory binding and lifetime expectations, resolve whether the historical repair exists before any repeat write, and validate separately under authorized CI.

Priorities are recommendations, not team delivery commitments. No completion percentages or delivery dates are assigned.

NeverC Progress

Current snapshot — 2026-10-19

  • Cutoff: 2026-10-19 01:02 UTC / 09:02 Asia/Shanghai. Reviewed dev source: ecfd4a0b, authored October 18 at 23:05:35 UTC.
  • Incoming 2f36a6ae…ecfd4a0b: 10 commits / 42 paths, including the prior progress-only commit. Product delta is 9 implementation commits / 41 paths after excluding PROGRESS.md and its own commit. Complete commit/path inventory is not complete code coverage.
  • No newly proven source defect and no source/test repair committed in this review. The historical piecewise sampling-order discrepancy remains visible; the earlier repair publication state remains unresolved. This review neither retries that uncertain write nor claims the repair landed.
  • Strict static review only: source, diffs, interfaces, selected callers, fixture source, configuration and read-only existing CI. No build, test, benchmark, repository script, dynamic analysis, project execution or manual CI action. Author validation statements remain author reports.
  • Read root AGENTS.md, README contribution guidance, docs/local-dev.md and .github/ci-policy.md. No root CONTRIBUTING.md; complete relevant subtree inventories (std: 622 entries, neverc: 2,626, tests: 1,267; none truncated) show no nested AGENTS/CONTRIBUTING guides. Repository execution guidance does not override the static-only constraint. dev remains default, push-enabled and unprotected; the returned ruleset is disabled.

Activity and review queue

9 ordinary open issues / 0 open PRs, unchanged since October 18. All-state issues returned 18 entries, including historical PRs; all-state PRs returned eight. Both second pages at 100/page were empty. No issue/PR opening, closure or merge occurred in this interval. Issue-comment and PR review-comment collections since October 18 01:00 UTC were empty. No open PR is awaiting review or available for a related repair. Roadmap issues #7–#12 and #16–#18 remain open; their status does not certify implementation completeness.

Product progress and actual static coverage

Incoming author work adds string-hash adapters, carrier reference wrappers, nested tuple lifetimes, tuple_cat signature queries, selected pair constructors/string values/unique-owner moves, and portable table-free AES/GHASH changes. NeverC remains C23-only; the C++ work concerns its translation adapter.

  1. AES changed implementation and callers. Read complete aes.c, the new aes_ct_field.h diff and the public AES header. Traced every local substitution caller: key expansion supplies four bytes and cipher rounds supply sixteen, matching the specialized packing branches. Inspected unsigned shift bounds, byte-oriented unaligned/endian-independent loads, round-constant recurrence, key schedule bounds, block input capture and cleanup. Read the added test_aes.c source for basis-vector transpose, exhaustive lane substitution, full key schedules and overlapping blocks, plus changed test_cipher.c CTR vector source. These assertions were not executed. Boolean structure alone does not certify generated-machine-code constant-time behavior, all field identities, cryptographic security or performance.

  2. GHASH implementation and authenticated-encryption integration. Read the complete gcm.c, new gcm_ct_field.h, public GCM contract and added test_gcm.c polynomial/basis/overlap fixtures. The two-word recurrence preserves the prior byte implementation's high-bit selection, cross-word right shift and 0xe1 reduction placement. All input reads precede output stores in the multiplication helper; seal hashes AAD before output, captures the nonce, and open checks the tag before plaintext writes. No new static contradiction was found in these inspected paths. This is not an independent cryptographic certification, timing measurement or exhaustive integration audit.

  3. Translation lowering, interfaces and selected source gates. Read the aggregate Lowering.cpp and Frontend.h changed hunks. Inspected stringHashAtAddress, hashInvocationArgument/hashCarrierWrapperArgumentAddress, apply hash argument binding, moveStringAt and recursive constructSelectedMemorySource, with selected callers around lines 5579–5594 and 18488–18518. Reviewed selected Frontend.cpp hunks for carrier query/owned-hash dispatch, recursive tuple destruction, string/view destruction signatures, per-AST hash-proof cache invalidation and Sema layout preparation. Inspected the complete added string-hash-adapters-lifetimes.cpp and nested-carrier-tuples-values.cpp fixture patches. Ownership transfer, reference bindings and cleanup remain subject to their exact source-admission contracts; fixture assertions and commit-message validation counts are not our test results.

  4. Historical discrepancy rechecked, not republished. Lowering.cpp lines 6159–6175 still captures the area-vector begin pointer before emitCanonicalRandom. Both pinned piecewise distribution operator bodies draw before reading their area iterators. This confirms the previously tracked ordering mismatch still exists at this source; its earlier uncertain publication operation was left untouched.

Not covered: the compare response omits MathSDK.cpp and TranslateTests.cpp patches; the 4,083-line MathSDK change, full pair authentication implementation, remaining frontend hunks/fixtures, all escape/lifetime paths, benchmarks and complete runtime/LLVM tree were not independently audited. Lowering.cpp was retrieved by blob for selected full-context ranges, not read end to end. No whole-repository, universal-target or validation-pass claim is made. No speculative behavior changes were made.

Existing CI — exact source, not our validation

Sampled 2026-10-19 00:59–01:01 UTC, dev ecfd4a0b:

  • 11 workflows: 2 successful, 1 failed, 7 in progress, 1 queued.
  • 22 check runs: 9 successful, 2 failed, 9 in progress, 2 queued.
  • Both workflow/check second pages were empty at 100/page. There is no PR head.
  • Windows ARM64 MSVC build failed at Build neverc. The existing job log directly reports C1053: function too large for FunctionLowering::utilityOperation, Lowering.cpp line 5646. Thus the historical size blocker is independently observed again on this SHA. Warning C4062 lines are not substituted for the fatal cause. No large dispatch refactor was attempted without proportionate build verification.
  • Python Linux x64 failed at Check plugin global state (Linux). The workflow calls check-global-state.py with --build-dir build --strict. Job metadata and workflow source establish the failing command, but decoded-log retrieval returned Transport closed on two attempts; the exact reported symbol/root cause remains unknown. No script was run or gate weakened.
  • The Python workflow-level sample still says queued while matrix jobs have already run: Linux ARM64 passed its recorded lifecycle/smoke/install stages, Linux x64 failed and other jobs remain pending/running. These independently sampled surfaces do not establish an overall workflow pass.
  • lint-docs and cpp-frontend-tools succeeded. Other platform/VBS work remains running, not passed.
  • No workflows were dispatched, rerun, disabled or edited. Any automatic workflow on this later documentation commit is a different head and must be reported separately.

Suggested priorities

  1. Address the exact-head ARM64 size blocker. Dependency: a scoped utilityOperation decomposition with a normal authorized verification environment. Acceptance: minimal semantic-preserving changes, exact remote diff, and actual ARM64 build evidence; static review alone cannot certify the compiler-size remedy.
  2. Recover Python global-state failure diagnostics and complete the new carrier/pair audit. Dependency: accessible failed-job logs and omitted MathSDK/fixture source. Acceptance: identify the actual symbol or command failure without weakening the gate, and document exact source/lifetime boundaries before any repair.
  3. Resolve the historical piecewise repair publication state. Dependency: establish the earlier operation's terminal outcome before any retry. Acceptance: one nonduplicated current-source repair and focused regression evidence, with execution status stated honestly.

  • Daily incoming range 103155b5…2f36a6ae: 9 implementation commits / 59 changed paths. All commit metadata and changed paths were inventoried; this is not a claim to have audited every path. Since the last published October 16 source snapshot, the wider range 4c33d439…2f36a6ae contains 24 commits / 144 paths and is not today's complete code-review scope. This progress-only commit is excluded from product progress.
  • No newly proven bug and no new source or fixture fix in this review. The historical piecewise sampling-order discrepancy remains present in the inspected source; its earlier publication remains unresolved. No duplicate repair, retry of an uncertain pending write, or claim of a landed repair is made.
  • Strictly static: source, diffs, declarations, selected caller relationships, fixture source and existing GitHub metadata. No build, test, benchmark, project execution, repository script, dynamic analysis or manual CI dispatch/rerun. Repository guidance requesting execution is subordinate to this review's static-only constraint.
  • Read root AGENTS.md, README contribution section, docs/local-dev.md, .github/ci-policy.md and relevant compiler/static-analysis skill guidance. Root CONTRIBUTING.md is absent. Complete recursive neverc (2,626 entries), tests (1,253) and utils (142) inventories contain no nested AGENTS/CONTRIBUTING guide. dev is the default branch, push-enabled and unprotected; the returned ruleset is disabled.

Activity and review queue

9 ordinary open issues / 0 open PRs, unchanged since yesterday and the last published snapshot. All-state issues returned 18 entries including historical PRs; all-state PRs returned eight entries. Both page-two requests were empty at 100/page. No interval issue/PR openings, closures or merges were found. Issue-comment and review-comment collections since October 17 01:00 UTC were empty. There is no open PR awaiting review or relevant open PR to reuse. Existing roadmap issues #7–#12 and #16–#18 remain open; this does not establish implementation completion.

Product delta and bounded static review

The nine incoming commits introduce authenticated default C++ heap bridging, selected C++17 make_from_tuple construction, string/string-view hashing, unique-owner exchange and hashes, pointer/scalar hash source authentication and tuple ownership paths. These concern the bounded C++ translation adapter; NeverC's source language remains C23-only.

Actual inspected scope:

  1. Shared lowering and interfaces. Read all available aggregate Lowering.cpp and Frontend.h changed hunks, including tuple-element bindings, direct/adapter unique-owner hashing, unique-owner exchange, make_from_tuple, typed allocation call-site changes, tuple owner moves, helper generation and retained default-heap calls. Lowering.cpp, Frontend.h. The exchange path binds both expressions before moving ownership, clears the source and preserves a separately bound replacement address for self-alias cases. Tuple construction retains element storage rather than prematurely capturing a value, and distinguishes caller result lifetime from helper argument/default lifetime. These are static observations, not executed correctness claims.
  2. Heap admission and caller closure. Read Frontend.cpp lines 11341–11735, 8261–8350 and 27006–27065. Traced hosted CRT/size_t ABI restrictions, exact default declarations, source-overload-family exclusion, element alignment, typed source versus SDK allocation use, sized-delete fallback selection and publication of helpers only for retained calls. Compared the updated frontend README contract. Successful, nonoverflowing allocation is an explicit admission domain; exception/allocation-failure handling is excluded rather than silently claimed. Frontend.cpp.
  3. String hash arithmetic. Compared the new 32-bit Murmur2 and 64-bit CityHash lowering against the pinned __functional/hash.h algorithm, including short/medium/long branches, byte-load range guards, nonzero rotate counts, 64-byte loop updates, and the ABI1 32-bit intermediate shift before widening. No mismatch was proven in this bounded comparison. This does not verify all declaration/source authentication paths or every target data model. Pinned hash header.
  4. Historical sampling finding rechecked. Lowering.cpp lines 6124–6138 still capture the area-vector begin pointer before the canonical generator call; the pinned piecewise constant and linear sampling bodies call the generator before reading area iterators. The previously reported sequencing discrepancy therefore has not disappeared from this source. No new exploitation claim or broadened finding is made; no uncertain earlier write was retried. Current lowerer, constant header, linear header.
  5. Unexecuted fixture-source review. Read all five unique-exchange fixtures (arrays, lifetimes, queries, result aliases, scalars), make-from-tuple conversions/references/lifetimes, default-heap-queries and unique-hash-adapters-lifetimes. Their assertions cover source effects, self exchange, outer assignment aliases, default/argument cleanup, reference origins and reverse tuple owner destruction. These are authored assertions, not observed test passes.

Limits: Frontend.cpp and MathSDK.cpp aggregate patches were omitted by the compare response. Full Frontend.cpp and Lowering.cpp were retrieved through blob reads after contents reads returned empty content; only the ranges/hunks named above were examined. MathSDK.cpp blob reads failed with transport errors, so its new authentication implementation was not independently audited. The root recursive tree also failed; complete relevant subtrees were enumerated instead. The remaining fixtures, complete TranslateTests harness, all authentication/escape/lifetime dependencies, cross-target numerical behavior, runtime/std/LLVM and installed packages were not audited end to end. No whole-repository scan or verification pass is claimed.

Existing CI — exact source, not our validation

Sampled 2026-10-18 00:58–00:59 UTC, dev 2f36a6ae:

  • 11 workflows: 2 success / 8 in progress / 1 queued / 0 failure at sampling.
  • 22 check runs: 7 success / 11 in progress / 4 queued / 0 failure at sampling.
  • Workflow and check collections used 100/page and both second pages were empty. No PR head exists.
  • Successful workflows: lint-docs and cpp-frontend-tools.
  • Windows ARM64, macOS ARM64 and Linux x64 job steps were also read; each was still at Build neverc, with later package/test stages pending. Thus the historical MSVC C1053 or other older failures cannot be declared resolved at this newer SHA.
  • Remaining platform and VBS workflows were running; the Python bindings workflow was queued in the workflow sample while some matrix checks were already running in the later check sample. These separate sampling surfaces are not a suite pass.
  • No CI was manually started, rerun, modified or disabled. Any automatic check for the documentation commit belongs to its own later SHA.

Suggested priorities

  1. Resolve the existing piecewise repair publication state, then rebase/review the minimal repair against current source. Dependency: establish the earlier write's terminal outcome without blind retry. Acceptance: one nonduplicated repair with the correct generator-before-iterator order, exact remote diff and a focused regression fixture; later test claims must identify actual CI evidence, not this static review.
  2. Complete the new source-authentication and ownership audit. Dependency: retrieve the omitted MathSDK.cpp changes and remaining caller/escape proofs. Acceptance: document the actual selected-declaration checks, invalid replacements, borrowed/owned tuple paths and lifetime boundaries; repair only reproducible static contradictions.
  3. Triage exact-head CI once results exist. Dependency: completion/log availability for platform and Python jobs at 2f36a6ae or a named descendant. Acceptance: attribute failures to exact commands and revision evidence, verify whether the historical ARM64 size blocker persists, and keep running/queued jobs distinct from success.

  • Incoming range since the previous report: 6e8ca967…4c33d439, 18 commits / 94 changed paths: 16 implementation commits, one contribution-documentation commit and one merge integrating the previous PROGRESS update. The path inventory contains 69 non-Markdown and 25 Markdown files; this is not an audit-completion count. Documentation-only changes are excluded from product progress.
  • One statically confirmed piecewise sampling evaluation-order mismatch. A minimal shared-lowering reorder was prepared and independently reviewed. Its source publication was aborted and remains uncommitted; no source or regression-fixture repair is claimed. This documentation update records the finding and publication blocker only.
  • Strictly static: source, diff, callers/interfaces, configuration, fixture source and existing GitHub metadata/logs. Source progress and bounded static findings

The implementation commits add Bernoulli distribution support; discrete-distribution ownership and function, reference, object and template callbacks; piecewise constant/linear distributions; exponential and extreme-value distributions; normal cached state; lognormal, Weibull and gamma distributions. Typed sqrt/log/exp/pow IR primitives and source fixtures accompany those changes. This is implementation progress, not proof that all supported targets or contracts pass.

All 18 commit records and 94 changed-path records were inventoried. The actual inspected source scope was:

  1. Random admission, ownership and callback interfaces. Read selected RandomSDK.cpp ranges 1–196, 250–693, 1298–1330 and 1593–2248, with additional sampling at 708–845. Traced distribution field layouts, constructor/operator authentication, selected source generators, source-function-object signatures, reference capture, copy/destruction and template-callable admission. Read every incoming Frontend.cpp and Frontend.h patch and the new MathSDK.cpp dispatch patch. These source-retention checks are not a complete proof of every dependency or cleanup path.
  2. Shared lowering and distribution sequencing. Read Lowering.cpp shared vector/capture/normalization helpers at 920–1470, relevant state helpers at 217–278 and 2240–2372, changed piecewise/discrete dispatch at 3582–3825, scalar-real dispatch at 3826–4008 and constructor changes at 29121–29432. Also checked the surrounding dispatch/function boundaries. Compared complete pinned discrete_distribution.h, piecewise_constant_distribution.h and piecewise_linear_distribution.h. This establishes the bounded piecewise ordering finding above; the prepared fix has not landed.
  3. Gamma, normal and lognormal paths. Compared sampled pinned gamma (29–146), normal (28–132), lognormal (28–99), exponential (29–101), uniform-real (98–104) and canonical (29–44) header bodies with the lowerer and admission interfaces. Inspected shape/scale read ordering, gamma rejection branches, normal hot/cold cache and paired-draw behavior, cache copying/reset/parameter replacement, and lognormal explicit-parameter copying. Sampled supporting __math roots/logarithms/exponential declarations. No additional defect was proven in these selected paths; this does not establish numerical or whole-profile correctness.
  4. Typed math IR. Read all incoming TranslateIR.h, TranslateIR.cpp and NCEmitter.cpp hunks, plus parser context at TranslateIR.cpp 245–410, verifier context at 906–933 and 1007–1050, and emitter entry at NCEmitter.cpp 967–989. Traced float/double type matching, unary versus binary arity, core-v2 gating, wire-field count and verification before emission. Read the complete 337-line incoming TranslateIRTests.cpp patch, including negative type/arity/profile/payload assertions.
  5. Fixture-source coverage. Fully read tests/neverc/Inputs/translate/cpp/random-discrete-reference-allocation.cpp, random-discrete-object-lifetimes.cpp, random-discrete-template-lifetimes.cpp, random-piecewise-linear-callback-timing.cpp and random-piecewise-linear-ref-weights-float.cpp. Also read random-gamma-{source,minstd,mt64,edges}.cpp, random-normal-{source,minstd,mt64,cache}.cpp and random-lognormal-{source,minstd,mt64,cache}.cpp. Sampled the related TranslateTests.cpp harness, discrete reference-rejection matrix, piecewise-linear 24-case matrix and latest gamma guards. These are assertions in source, not observed passes. The gamma harness describes 18 engine/precision/shape combinations with reference values and generator-state checks; those checks were not run here.

The new frontend README and relevant C++ core-v2 documentation changes were read as contract context; other translated documentation was inventoried, not treated as proof.

Excluded scope: this was not a full review of all 94 changed paths or a whole-repository scan. Remaining engines/adaptors/seed-sequence paths, complete allocator/unwind and source-dependency closure, full SDK provenance/catalog closure, all fixtures, libm numerical edge behavior, runtime/std/LLVM, installed packages and hosted DynCode were not audited end to end. Large incoming compiler/fixture diffs remain a coverage risk rather than an inferred defect.

Existing CI at the exact source

At 01:02–01:05 UTC, source 4c33d439 has 11 workflows: 4 failure / 4 in progress / 3 success, and 23 check runs: 5 failure / 4 in progress / 14 success. Both collections were completely paginated at 100/page with empty second pages. These are existing push runs on dev; there is no PR head.

  • Confirmed MSVC ARM64 compilation blocker: native Windows ARM64 and Python-plugin Windows ARM64 both report fatal C1053, FunctionLowering::utilityOperation function too large, at Lowering.cpp:3513 while compiling Lowering.cpp.obj. Both complete logs were read. The method spans roughly 21,398 lines; a small speculative extraction is not sufficient evidence of a repair. This is distinct from the superseded historical fixture-literal C2026 issue.
  • Other failed gates: macOS ARM64, job 116626254513, failed at Build network product examples after compiler build/install/package and relocated-archive checks passed. Python plugin bindings, Linux-x64 job 116627838306, failed Check plugin global state (Linux) after build, lifecycle/SDK, native-bridge, sanitized-smoke and driver-smoke stages passed. Linux ARM64, job 116626361346, is marked completed/failure, but its returned step metadata inconsistently leaves Install neverc in progress after Build neverc succeeded. The exact failing command is therefore unproven. Logs for these three jobs were inaccessible because of transport failures; no concrete source cause is assigned.
  • Running at Run neverc tests: Windows x64, Windows x64 Clang-LTO, Windows ARM64 Clang-LTO and Linux x64. Their earlier compiler builds passed. Windows-x64 catalog-byte verification and applicable Clang-LTO/package/archive checks also passed, but none of these running workflows is a suite pass.
  • Successful workflows: documentation lint, C++ frontend-tools archive audit and VBS enclave differential CI. Other passing Python matrix jobs do not negate the two failed plugin jobs.

Existing CI results and author-reported validation are separate evidence. No failed gate is blamed on the newest gamma change solely because it shares the head commit. Automatically attached checks for this report-only commit, if any, belong to a later SHA and were not manually dispatched.

Suggested priorities

  1. Publish the bounded piecewise ordering repair once the publication blocker is resolved. Dependencies: authorization resolution, fresh source/head read and exact remote diff verification. Acceptance: the shared lowerer follows the pinned sampling order, a focused regression source covers the admitted callback behavior, and any later execution claim is tied to independent existing-CI evidence at the actual repair SHA. The prepared edit is not yet committed or validated.
  2. Address the confirmed MSVC function-size blocker through bounded helper extraction. Dependencies: preserve current dispatch semantics and caller/state interfaces. Acceptance: a statically reviewed extraction followed by actual descendant MSVC ARM64 build success in both affected workflows, without weakening compiler options, assertions or CI gates.
  3. Resolve the remaining CI evidence gaps and narrow state/ownership coverage gaps. Dependencies: accessible macOS network-example, Linux plugin-global-state and Linux ARM64 logs, plus consistent job metadata. Acceptance: identify each exact failing command before assigning causes, and finish selected remaining state/cleanup traces before broad feature-completion claims. Documentation-only commits are not product progress.

Source progress and bounded static findings

The nine incoming commits extend wrapper search result queries, repair search_n count handling and MSVC reference_wrapper field typing, add raw/wrapped shuffle and sample, add standard engines/adaptors and seed sequences, then add integer/real uniform distributions and canonical floating generation. The public random-header closure and eleven documentation entrypoints were updated by the author. The following is the actual inspected scope:

  1. Canonical and uniform-real admission and lowering. Read RandomSDK.cpp 1–458 and 932–1191, the full pinned generate_canonical.h and uniform_real_distribution.h additions, Lowering.cpp 1684–1880, 2952–3056, and the distribution construction hunk at 28010–28042. Traced authenticated field layouts, float/double limits, selected generator methods/bounds, SDK declaration/trait dependencies, implicit specialization and source-replacement rejection. The canonical loop clamps Bits to 24/53, handles a full 64-bit generator range, takes one draw for Bits=0, and preserves the pinned accumulate/multiply/divide order. Real singleton intervals still consume draws; integer singleton intervals return before drawing. The reviewed real path follows the documented strict floating contract rather than adding a new endpoint correction.
  2. Source-owned generator retention and dispatch. Read the complete incoming Frontend.cpp patch, including algorithmCallableSource at 15917–15935, and the new MathSDK.cpp dispatch hunk. Source generator bounds retain their expression dependencies and the actual call operator remains a source dependency; authenticated SDK engines use their dedicated lowering. Also inspected all new Frontend.h interfaces and CMakeLists.txt changes: RandomSDK.cpp is included in the configure dependency list, identity inputs and bridge library sources.
  3. search_n count-bound repair already authored. 7b55936c changes the pinned random-access header from count==0 to count<=0 and compares range length with the count before narrowing. The prior negative-count condition and narrowed oversized count could enter the search path incorrectly. Read the entire MathSDK.cpp incoming patch, including shared integral/enum conversion proof at 19816–20079, all three wrapper recognizer changes, and current bound proof at 30846–30919. Read the complete shared lowerer 8706–8877: nonpositive counts return the original begin; an empty positive-count range returns end before subtraction; nonempty lengths and counts compare in their usual integral common type before predicate evaluation. 44828e3b adds authenticated unscoped-enum count conversion and its selected underlying-type traits. This is static confirmation of existing author work, not a new repair by this review.
  4. MSVC wrapper-field repair already authored. In the same 7b55936c commit, Frontend.cpp now emits the padded reference_wrapper base field using the target size-type mapping. This matches the unchanged construction/result-storage assignments in Lowering.cpp 4819–4832 and 27804–27814, rather than declaring the field with a mismatched literal type name. Read the x64/ARM64 fixture source asserting wrapper size, alignment, assignment and referent identity. This review did not independently execute either target.
  5. Fixture-source coverage. Read all of random-canonical.cpp, random-uniform-real.cpp, random-uniform-source.cpp, search-n-scalar-count-bounds.cpp, search-n-wrapper-count-bounds.cpp and search-n-wrapper-enum-count.cpp under tests/neverc/Inputs/translate/cpp. Read the new enum-trait replacement matrix and sampled corresponding TranslateTests.cpp runtime/rejection suites, including the complete integer/real uniform replacement guards. Assertions cover Bits=0 and clamping, full/narrow generators, result bit patterns and generator state, explicit parameters, singleton draws, negative/oversized enum counts, const wrappers, one-time argument evaluation and cleanup. These are assertions in source, not observed passes.

Additional diff-only rotation: inspected shuffle/sample admission at RandomSDK.cpp 1193–1292 and the Lowering.cpp 14584–14658 addition, including wrapped iterator reconstruction, generator reference binding, sample count clamping and stable output order. This is not a full SDK-loop proof for those algorithms.

Not covered end-to-end: standard engine state transitions, nested adaptor arithmetic, seed-sequence generation/storage/allocation, all imported random headers, complete source dependency/cleanup propagation, all result-query cases, the full SDK catalog/provenance hash closure, most new test fixtures, translated prose, runtime/std/LLVM, installed packages and hosted DynCode. RandomSDK.cpp adds 1,293 lines; Lowering.cpp changes 1,366 additions / 3 deletions; TranslateTests.cpp changes 1,066 / 35. Those larger changes remain a review risk, not a confirmed defect. No speculative code changes were made.

Existing CI at the exact source

At 01:05 UTC, dev source ef1463d6 has 11 workflows: 2 failure / 6 in progress / 3 success. The collection is complete: 11 entries at 100/page, then an empty second page. The 01:04 UTC check sample has 23 checks: 3 failure / 7 in progress / 13 success, followed by an empty second page. All are existing push runs on dev; there is no PR head.

The previous reviewed source 4eb09cd0 has now finished with 7 failed / 1 cancelled / 3 successful workflows. Its formerly running Linux-x64 and Windows-x64 workflows ended in failure; Windows ARM64 Clang-LTO was cancelled. These older outcomes are separate from the new source and cannot be used as its result.

CI diagnosis limits / suspects: downloads of all three currently failed job logs returned transport errors. The connector also rejected check-annotation endpoints. The failed stages above are confirmed metadata; their concrete source/infrastructure causes remain unproven. No failing stage is attributed to the new random work merely because it shares the commit, and no stale C2026 explanation is reused. Checks automatically attached to this documentation commit, if any, belong to the later report SHA.

Suggested priorities

  1. Diagnose the three distinct failed gates. Dependencies: accessible complete logs/artifacts for Linux-ARM64 install, Windows-ARM64 network examples and Linux-x64 plugin global state at ef1463d6. Acceptance: identify the exact failing command and a statically supported cause or verified infrastructure limit for each; use actual descendant CI evidence before calling the gate repaired.
  2. Finish the new random state-machine review. Dependencies: pinned engine/adaptor/seed_seq bodies, target layouts, selected declaration closure and fixture sources. Acceptance: trace nested adaptor draw counts, 32/64-bit boundaries, seeding and allocation/cleanup end to end; separate source proof from any independently recorded native results.
  3. Close the remaining search/result-query and package evidence gaps. Dependencies: the remaining recognizers/callers, full existing native/package jobs and roadmap #16's acceptance boundaries. Acceptance: retain exact pointer/result identities, qualifier/cleanup behavior and successful package gates before broadening feature-completion claims. Do not count this progress-file update as product work.

NeverC Progress

Current snapshot — 2026-10-14

  • Cutoff: 2026-10-14 00:59 UTC / 08:59 Asia/Shanghai. Reviewed source: dev 4eb09cd0.
  • Incoming range: dfdc797e…4eb09cd0, 31 commits / 73 paths. Excluding the October 13 PROGRESS-only commit 4a9c6d09 leaves 30 author commits / 72 product/documentation paths. Inventory is not an audit-completion percentage.
  • No newly confirmed bug or new source patch in this bounded review. The previously diagnosed MSVC fixture-literal defect has an independent author fix, described below. The old uncommitted candidate is superseded and was not retried.
  • Strictly static: source, patch, caller/interface, fixture-source and existing-CI reads only. No project execution, build, tests, benchmarks, repository scripts, dynamic analysis or manual CI dispatch/rerun. Author validation statements and existing GitHub jobs are not tests performed by this review.
  • Read root AGENTS.md, docs/local-dev.md and .github/ci-policy.md. Relevant compiler/test ancestor inventories contain no nested AGENTS/contribution guide. Repository instructions to run checks yield to the explicit static-only constraint. dev remains the default branch, writable and unprotected; the returned ruleset is disabled.

Activity and review queue

9 ordinary open issues / 0 open PRs, unchanged since the October 13 01:51 UTC snapshot. The complete all-state issue collection returned 18 entries including historical PRs, then an empty second page at 100/page. Open PR pages one and two are empty. No issue/PR was newly opened, closed or merged in the interval; issue-comment and PR review-comment collections since the prior cutoff are empty. There is no current PR review queue.

Roadmap issues #7–#12 and #16–#18 remain open. Their status does not certify the corresponding product milestones; no owners, delivery dates or completion percentages are assigned here.

Previous confirmed defect: source fix now present

The author committed 9c6826bc, tests: keep translation fixture literals within MSVC limits, after yesterday's snapshot. It addresses the nine oversized raw literals in tests/neverc/TranslateTests.cpp that caused MSVC C2026.

Static inspection of the complete one-file patch confirms 64 added / 32 removed lines, all 32 replacement sites exclusively inserting adjacent raw-literal boundaries. Each removed payload line reappears unchanged immediately after the new raw-literal opener; the preceding newline remains inside the earlier token. Thus this patch preserves the embedded fixture payload and surrounding assertions. The author's claim that tokens are at most 8,000 bytes and that local fixtures ran is recorded as author validation, not a fresh whole-file measurement or execution by this review.

Independent existing-CI evidence has advanced: on current source 4eb09cd0, Windows x64 job 115498786983 successfully completed both Build neverc and the formerly blocked Verify compiled C++ SDK catalog bytes stage. It is still running Run neverc tests. This supports removal of the earlier fixture-compilation blocker on this descendant, not an overall Windows or test-suite pass. No obsolete candidate write was retried or represented as our published fix.

Bounded static coverage

All 31 incoming commit subjects and all 73 changed-path records were inventoried. Product work includes stored transparent wrapper operations/predicates, exact result-query dependencies, fixture corrections, and hosted DynCode with explicit C++ core targets. Many paths are translated documentation; author-reported native command counts are not independently reproduced.

  • Latest search predicate admission: read every MathSDK.cpp changed hunk in 4eb09cd0: eight construction gates for find_first_of, search, find_end and search_n, including independently qualified inputs. The new stored-source branch requires a direct DeclRefExpr to VarDecl and an authenticated CopyOrMove construction, rather than accepting arbitrary member/comma/returned predicate expressions.
  • Shared constructor and record proof: read MathSDK.cpp 933–1025 and 1314–1375. Traced empty/standard-layout/trivially-copyable record shape, exact SDK origins, transparent void specialization, complete nondependent construction, implicit trivial nonthrowing constructor, same canonical source/destination record and reference-parameter qualification. The change does not admit arbitrary stateful user predicates.
  • One complete algorithm proof and dispatch: read find_first_of comparison authentication, including its signature, SDK helper delegation, nested-loop bounds/increments, dereference operands and original first/end iterator returns, plus dispatch at 80908–80960. Other search algorithms received changed-hunk inspection, not full loop/lowering proofs.
  • Equality/mismatch result queries: read the complete Frontend.cpp patch in e32e0439, algorithmCallableSource at 15886–15982, exact-call authentication at 16479–16490 and admission consumer at 23942–23960. The four-parameter signature distinguishes a pointer end argument from a predicate record; exact argument/parameter counts and full existing operation admission remain prerequisites. Source authentication is keyed to the actual call/reference, not blanket permission for all uses of a specialization.
  • Fixture-source inspection: sampled the latest stored-search matrix and full rejection-table tail: mutable/const variables, independent input qualification, empty/single/nonempty ranges, first/last results, plus retained comma/member/returned/typed/source-operator rejection cases. Also inspected equality/mismatch result-query assertions for bool and exact iterator-pair types, const qualification, NaN/signed zero and cleanup counts. These are assertions in source, not observed test passes.
  • Prior portability fix: complete patch-level payload-preservation check described above.

Not covered end-to-end: the remaining stored numeric/filter/adjacency recognizers, all search loop variants and lowerers, the new hosted DynCode pipeline, full source-dependency propagation, most fixture changes (11,797 additions / 2,032 deletions), translated prose, runtime/std/LLVM and installed packaging. MathSDK.cpp changed 948 additions / 163 deletions and Frontend.cpp 89 / 3 in the aggregate. This is not a whole-repository scan. Large file-content reads returned empty content; complete compiler blob reads recovered the selected source regions, without treating an empty read as an empty file.

Existing CI at the exact source

At 00:59 UTC, source 4eb09cd0 has 11 workflows: 5 failure / 3 in progress / 3 success. A 00:58 UTC check-run sample contains 23 checks: 5 failure / 3 in progress / 15 success, all within one 100-entry page. There is no PR head to compare.

  • Running: Linux x64, Windows x64, Windows ARM64 Clang-LTO.
  • Failed: Windows x64 Clang-LTO and Linux ARM64 at Install neverc; Windows ARM64 and macOS ARM64 at Build network product examples. These are observed failing stages, not independently proven root causes. The macOS job log download failed with a transport error.
  • Python plugin bindings has now finished failure, advancing from the running state sampled earlier this morning; its Linux-x64 matrix check failed while other returned platform checks succeeded.
  • Successful workflows: documentation lint, C++ frontend-tools archive audit and VBS enclave differential CI. These do not certify the failed or unfinished platform gates.

The previous source dfdc797e has now finished with 5 failed / 3 cancelled / 3 successful workflows. Cancelled jobs are not passing evidence. Any automatically created checks for this documentation update belong to its later report SHA, not the reviewed source; none are manually triggered.

Suggested priorities

  1. Diagnose current install and network-example failures separately. Dependencies: complete logs/artifacts for the exact failing jobs above. Acceptance: identify a concrete cause and bounded fix or infrastructure limitation for each stage, then use its actual descendant CI result; do not reuse yesterday's C2026 diagnosis for these failures.
  2. Finish bounded stored-predicate and result-query review. Dependencies: exact SDK bodies, original-call source roots, lowerers and positive/negative fixture sources. Acceptance: trace the remaining search/count/restart and cleanup/aliasing paths end to end, including author-noted negative search_n count behavior, before expanding supported-domain claims.
  3. Qualify hosted DynCode and reconcile roadmap #16 with evidence. Dependencies: explicit target/host constraints, relocation/section/final-verifier contracts and existing platform/package results. Acceptance: distinguish implemented source, static review, author local claims and independently observed native/install evidence; no whole-feature completion claim from commit messages alone.

Daily log — 2026-10-14

  • Inventoried 31 commits / 73 paths and reviewed the bounded stored-search construction, exact-call result-query and fixture-source paths above.
  • Confirmed the author's prior MSVC fixture fix is present and the previously blocked Windows-x64 stage now succeeds on 4eb09cd0; the stale uncommitted candidate was not retried.
  • No newly proven bug or source/test patch from this review. Recorded separate current install/network-example/plugin failures and incomplete platform tests.
  • Prepended this English snapshot and daily log while retaining prior snapshots and human edits verbatim below. No build/test/script execution, manual CI, dependency/security change, issue mutation, merge or deployment.

NeverC Progress

Current snapshot — 2026-10-13

  • Cutoff: 2026-10-13 01:51 UTC / 09:51 Asia/Shanghai. Reviewed dev remains dfdc797e.
  • Incoming range: b0ce647f…dfdc797e, 29 commits / 17 paths. The October 12 PROGRESS-only commit 0d7d5da7 is reporting, not product work; 28 other author commits touch 16 paths. Counts are scope inventory, not completion percentages.
  • One confirmed test-source portability defect; a minimal static fix is prepared but NOT committed. The repository write remains blocked by pending action approval. Remote readback at 01:50 UTC confirmed the original test blob and unchanged source head. This report does not represent the fix as published.
  • Strictly static: source, diff, caller/interface/configuration, fixture-source and existing-CI reads only. No project/build/test/benchmark/repository script or dynamic analysis was run; no CI was manually triggered or rerun. Local byte counting, literal-payload comparison and diff inspection are text-only verification.
  • Root AGENTS.md, local-dev and CI-policy guidance plus the compiler-development pipeline reference were read. Root and relevant compiler/test inventories contain no additional contribution/AGENTS guide. Execution guidance yields to the explicit static-only instruction. dev is the default, unprotected branch; the sole returned ruleset is disabled. No dependency, issue field, security setting, merge or deployment changed.

Activity

9 ordinary open issues / 0 open PRs, unchanged from the prior October 12 01:03 UTC snapshot. No new, closed or merged issue/PR in the interval. The all-state issue collection returned 18 entries including historical PRs, then an empty page; the open PR collection and its second page were empty. The final open issue read still returned nine. There is no open-PR review queue.

Roadmap issues #7–#12 and #16–#18 remain open; this review does not assign owners, dates or implementation percentages. The October 10 COFF archive repair remains prior work and is not credited again.

Confirmed defect and pending minimal fix

Trigger: compiling the translation fixture target with MSVC at dfdc797e.

Root cause/location: nine single raw string literals in tests/neverc/TranslateTests.cpp exceed MSVC's 16,380 single-byte-character limit. Original starts are 233812, 234285, 234562, 236450, 237995, 238278, 238849, 239435 and 240239. Payload lengths are 16,615; 23,849; 20,593; 29,258; 20,207; 24,203; 56,750; 45,647; and 41,364 bytes. The largest literals cause more than one diagnostic, so nine offending literals correspond to 13 C2026 errors, not thirteen independent defects.

Evidence: the exact-head Windows x64 job successfully built neverc, then failed compiling TranslateTests.cpp during the “Verify compiled C++ SDK catalog bytes” step. Read logs identify C2026 at the above fixture region. Microsoft's C2026 documentation states the per-literal limit and adjacent-literal remedy. The actual failure is fixture compilation; the step's title does not prove SDK catalog content is wrong.

Prepared fix: split only those nine raw literals at existing newline boundaries into adjacent raw-string tokens of at most 8,000 bytes. Concatenation preserves every fixture byte; no test assertions, compiler semantics or dependencies change.

Static proof: the downloaded original matched Git blob 6fe6423c25a18cd53e0d2009f3a842bf70a9f7ac. Independent literal-payload concatenation matched before/after byte for byte. The resulting candidate blob is 4df28b89d87429be9f681977b13c5caa80e53604. All raw tokens in the file are then at most 15,302 bytes (the largest unchanged token); every newly split token is at most 8,000. Full file sizes are 17,460,411 → 17,461,435 bytes. These are static text properties, not a successful MSVC compilation.

Publication/verification limit: the attempted update received no successful commit result and is not retried while its approval is pending. Remote still contains the original blob. There is no fix commit or PR to link yet. No Windows build, translation fixture or whole-suite pass is claimed.

Bounded semantic review

All 29 incoming commit subjects and 17 changed paths were enumerated. Incoming work extends wrapper-list extrema, partition/rotate, heap checks, numeric operations, comparison/logical reductions and boolean outputs/accumulators, with English and localized documentation.

  • Latest bool-output change: read the complete two-line MathSDK.cpp admission change in dfdc797e, complete unary-negate/bit-not authenticators (37680–38170), their dispatch callers (83661–83716), scalar conversion helper (3251–3274), and corresponding Lowering.cpp paths (11759–11919). Checked direct transparent construction, exact selected SDK origin/redeclarations/signatures, forwarding/reference conversion and loop shape. Full promoted unary results are stored through the requested output type; bool conversion occurs after negation/complement, preserving wide unsigned complement and signed-zero/NaN cases.
  • Selected numeric contracts: read the complete default-wrapper accumulate authenticator (32207–32293), default reduce/delegated-plus proof (34008–34227), and current numeric-lowering body (4771–4990). Traced accumulator-type conversion on each iteration, live referent reads and source-bound helper identity. Reviewed changed lowerer hunks for logical short-circuiting and scans at diff level: plain wrapper right operands retain conditional referent reads, while transformed terms are evaluated before reduction.
  • Allowlist: inspected the four-line partition/rotate header mapping change. This is not a full proof of every new partition/rotate or heap recognizer.
  • Fixture sources: read the latest 324-added-line unary bool-output fixture patch, including five positive source scenarios and the retained rejection matrix. Cases cover empty argument cleanup, NaN/zero, in-place/shifted bool aliases, wide/promoted conversion, direct/stored/returned/typed operations and source replacement boundaries. Also inspected the oversized matrix literals for the portability fix. These assertions were not executed.

Uncovered: most new numeric/comparison recognizers, full helper/source dependency propagation, all 46,762 added / 27,764 removed fixture lines, complete SDK/lifetime and caller proofs, multilingual prose, LLVM/DynCode/runtime/std and installed packages. Aggregate source deltas are MathSDK.cpp 3,426 additions / 745 deletions, Lowering.cpp 450 / 142 and Frontend.cpp 4 / 0. No second speculative semantic bug or patch is asserted.

Large raw/file connector reads did not return complete files. Blob reads recovered the compiler sources; a read-only raw-source download recovered the 17.46-MB fixture file and its Git blob identity was verified. Tool limitations did not justify a partial-file overwrite.

Existing CI snapshot

At 01:50 UTC, exact reviewed source dfdc797e has 11 workflows: 4 failure, 4 in progress, 3 success; 24 checks: 5 failure, 4 in progress, 14 success, 1 skipped. Legacy status contexts are empty; all returned totals fit 100-entry pages. No open PR head exists.

  • Failed platform workflows: Linux x64, Linux arm64, Windows x64, Windows arm64.
  • Running: macOS arm64, both Windows Clang-LTO variants, and Python plugin bindings. The Linux-x64 plugin job inside that running workflow has already failed.
  • Successful parent workflows: documentation lint, C++ frontend-tools archive audit and VBS enclave differential CI. These do not certify the failed platform/compiler gates.

Existing step evidence distinguishes failures: Linux arm64 failed at installation after compiler build; Linux x64 reached the final “Fail if tests failed” gate after its test collection step; the Linux Python job failed the plugin-global-state check. Those three log downloads failed with a transport error, so their detailed root causes remain unconfirmed and are not conflated with C2026. Windows arm64's cause was not independently diagnosed. The pending literal split only addresses the proven MSVC fixture-compile defect.

The October 12 b0ce647f snapshot later ended with 9 cancelled and 2 successful workflows (lint-docs and cpp-frontend-tools). Cancelled native builds are not acceptance evidence. Automatically triggered documentation checks belong to the later report commit, separate from reviewed source and the uncommitted candidate.

Suggested priorities

  1. Publish the minimal MSVC literal fix once its pending approval is resolved. Dependency: approval plus a fresh blob/head check, preserving concurrent edits. Acceptance: only adjacent-literal boundaries change, fixture bytes remain identical, and authorized existing Windows CI reaches the previously blocked target on the actual fix SHA. No successful build is claimed yet.
  2. Diagnose the other exact-head platform/plugin failures independently. Dependency: complete logs/artifacts for Linux install/test and plugin-global-state gates, plus Windows arm64. Acceptance: a specific cause and bounded fix or explicit infrastructure limitation for each failing stage; an overall running parent is not green.
  3. Review the remaining numeric recognizers in bounded end-to-end batches. Dependency: selected SDK bodies, caller/source-origin proofs and focused fixture source. Acceptance: trace boolean accumulator conversion, aliasing/evaluation order and short-circuit boundaries from admission to output before broad support claims; reconcile roadmap #16 with separately identified execution/package evidence.

Daily log — 2026-10-13

  • Retained 9 issues / 0 PRs with no interval state changes.
  • Inventoried 29 commits / 17 paths and completed the bounded unary/selected numeric review above.
  • Proved the MSVC oversized-literal fixture defect and prepared a byte-preserving fix; no fix commit was published because action approval remains pending.
  • Refreshed actual CI stages and separated one diagnosed cause from other unconfirmed failures.
  • Added this English snapshot and daily record, preserving prior snapshots and human edits verbatim below.

NeverC Progress

Current snapshot — 2026-10-12

  • Cutoff: 2026-10-12 01:03 UTC / 09:03 Asia/Shanghai (UTC+08:00). Existing CI sampled at 01:01 UTC.
  • Source branch: dev; reviewed revision: b0ce647f.
  • Incoming window: db9c874f…b0ce647f, 26 commits / 17 paths. Excluding the October 11 report-only commit b5565a05 and PROGRESS.md gives 25 new author commits / 16 product paths.
  • Result: no newly confirmed defect; no source or test patch today in the bounded static scope below. Previous fixes remain historical completed work.
  • Method: source, diffs, caller/interface, fixture-source and existing-CI reads only. No project execution, builds, tests, benchmarks, repository scripts, manual CI dispatch/rerun, dependency/security change, issue mutation, merge or deployment. Fixture assertions and author-reported validation counts are not test results performed by this review.

Repository activity and review queue

9 open issues / 0 open PRs, unchanged from the October 11 01:04 UTC snapshot. The complete all-state issue collection contains 18 records including PRs; the PR collection contains 8 historical entries. Both were exhausted with an empty second page at 100 records/page. No new, closed or merged item since the previous snapshot. Issue-comment and PR inline-comment collections since that cutoff are empty; latest PR #20 remains merged with no submitted reviews. There is no open-PR review queue.

Open roadmap issues #7–#12 and #16–#18 remain unassigned and have no milestones. Their proposed UI, Studio and Engine work is not certified as shipped by this review; no owner, deadline or completion percentage is inferred. Issue #16 still describes a planned translation roadmap with open acceptance gates, while source and documentation have substantially advanced.

Read root AGENTS.md, docs/local-dev.md, .github/ci-policy.md and the compiler-development skill/pipeline reference. Root, .github and docs inventories found no CONTRIBUTING guide; inspected compiler/test ancestor inventories contain no nested AGENTS. Repository execution guidance was read but the explicit static-only constraint took precedence. All work used the GitHub connector. The large TranslateTests.cpp blob read failed with a transport error; the complete latest-commit file patch was available and used for the selected fixture-source review instead.

Incoming work and bounded static coverage

All 26 incoming commit subjects and all 17 changed-path records were enumerated. New author work adds independent qualification for search/find_end; transparent comparisons for extrema, ordering, includes, merge/set operations and bounds; logical_not partition queries; two-value min/max/clamp/minmax; and initializer-list minimum. Documentation changed in English plus ten translations and the core-v2 profile guide. Commit-message execution claims remain author reports.

  • Frontend.cpp: read the complete four-line allowlist change and surrounding pinned-header/redeclaration checks at lines 14581–14762. The new is_partitioned and partition_point names map to their specific libc++ headers, with the existing SDK-origin/redeclaration gate retained.
  • List minimum authentication: read the complete latest MathSDK.cpp patch, 358 added lines, including utilityWrapperListMinElementComparison and utilityWrapperMinListComparison and the operation-admission caller at lines 80244–80255. Traced direct transparent less/greater construction, homogeneous checked wrapper types, comparator-reference alias and borrowing, exact helper signatures/origins, identity/invoke dispatch, pointer adapters, empty-helper return, full scan, selected operand direction and wrapper copy result.
  • Shared source proofs: inspected list endpoints, comparator-reference authentication at lines 23106–23159 and transparent scalar comparison authentication. Verified that endpoints read the same list's begin/size fields and that comparator forwarding/conversion uses the expected wrapper operands. Read selected frontend wrapper/list source-dependency handling at lines 15800–15824.
  • Two-value minmax: read the complete current authentication body, its admission caller at lines 80227–80242, and lowering. The predicate compares second against first; the checked pair fields retain references to the original wrappers, preserving first/second order on ties.
  • Lowering: reviewed aggregate changed hunks, with full current-path reads for list min/max, minmax, is_partitioned and partition_point. Checked list candidate advancement, strict-comparison tie behavior, copied binding/result storage, live referent reads, logical negation, range guards and partition-point length updates. Traced comparator disposal at lines 1435–1480 and scalar comparison emission at lines 2261–2272. Merge/set changes received diff-level inspection, not full SDK-path proof.
  • Fixture sources: inspected selected cases from the latest 1,026-line TranslateTests.cpp addition, including alias/original binding, live and const referents, single-element and tie selection, greater ordering, NaN/signed zero, argument effects/temporary cleanup, result copying/return/use, and the source/lifetime rejection table. Stored/returned/typed comparators and source replacements of endpoints, forwarding, projection/invoke, helpers and wrapper conversion remain explicit boundaries. These are source assertions, not observed test passes.

Limits: this is not a whole-repository audit or an exhaustive review of all 25 author commits. The aggregate MathSDK.cpp delta is 8,343 additions / 3 deletions, Lowering.cpp 372 / 152, and TranslateTests.cpp 25,730 / 4. Most new SDK recognizers and fixtures were not reviewed end-to-end. Multilingual prose, full LLVM/DynCode/runtime/std behavior and native packaging remain outside complete coverage. Nonempty-list and valid-ordering algorithm preconditions are not independently established for every caller. No unproven admission boundary was widened and no speculative patch was committed.

Findings and uncertainty

No newly statically proven defect was established in the selected paths. The reviewed list-minimum lowering copies the selected wrapper binding rather than returning a reference to the temporary list element; the two-value minmax path instead returns references to its original wrapper operands. These are distinct contracts and both were traced.

The remaining material gap is exact-revision execution/packaging evidence, plus incomplete end-to-end review of the large new recognizer surface. Absence of that evidence is not proof of a source defect. The NaN fixture is recorded as a source assertion; this review does not generalize it into a universal valid-ordering guarantee.

Existing CI snapshot

At 2026-10-12 01:01 UTC, exact reviewed source b0ce647f756fc0c64f9ac88b0b33cc2a22a152db has 11 workflows: 4 in progress / 7 queued and 22 checks: 1 successful / 6 in progress / 15 queued. Legacy commit-status contexts are empty. The retrieved totals fit their 100-entry pages. Workflow state and individual job state are reported separately; queued parent workflows can already contain running jobs. No open PR head exists to sample.

The only successful individual check is Official artifact policy. It is not compiler, runtime or package acceptance. Running/queued checks have no terminal result and no new exact-source failure is asserted.

Yesterday's exact source db9c874f now has 11 cancelled workflows and 24 checks: 3 successful / 20 cancelled / 1 skipped. The successes are Ubuntu archive-audit, official artifact policy and VBS signing bootstrap. The cpp-frontend-tools parent workflow is cancelled, despite its successful Ubuntu job. Yesterday's pending native acceptance therefore did not become a completed compiler/package pass. No specific cancellation cause is inferred.

The repository documents newest-run cancellation and Markdown-only platform-build filtering. This report changes neither workflow configuration nor cancellation policy and adds no CI-skip marker. Automatically created documentation checks, if any, belong to the later report commit and are separate from source validation. Refresh exact-SHA evidence before making a release-readiness claim.

Suggested priorities (not delivery commitments)

  1. Obtain completed native acceptance on a stable exact revision. Dependency: existing platform/compiler/package workflows reaching final gates on a revision containing the October 10 COFF fix. Acceptance: retain per-stage pass/fail/cancelled/skipped evidence and explicitly verify the padding-regression coverage; setup/policy checks and cancelled parents do not close this gate.
  2. Review the remaining comparison recognizers in bounded batches. Dependency: selected exact SDK bodies, callers and focused fixture sources. Acceptance: trace merge/set ordering, bounds/equal_range and independent search qualification end-to-end before claiming broad coverage, including binding identity, empty/end results and cleanup.
  3. Reconcile #16 with implemented profile and acceptance evidence. Dependency: a bounded support matrix separating implementation, static inspection, native execution and installed-package results. Acceptance: map each P0–P3 gate to exact SHAs/evidence; retain E Language as the next planned adapter after the finite C++ P3 baseline rather than implying it is already delivered. No issue fields are changed by this report.

Current snapshot — 2026-10-11

  • Cutoff: 2026-10-11 01:04 UTC / 09:04 Asia/Shanghai (UTC+08:00). CI sampled at 01:03 UTC.
  • Source branch: dev; reviewed revision: db9c874f.
  • Incoming window: 2d04061a…db9c874f, 38 commits / 19 paths. This includes yesterday's COFF fix and report. Excluding the report-only commit/path gives 37 code/product commits / 18 paths; excluding both already-reported commits gives 36 new author commits / 16 paths.
  • Result: no newly confirmed defect; no source patch today in the bounded static scope below. Earlier fixes remain historical completed work, not new fixes credited again.
  • Method: source, diffs, caller/interface, fixture-source and existing-CI reads only. No project execution, builds, tests, benchmarks, repository scripts, CI dispatch/rerun, dependency/security change, issue mutation, merge or deployment. Author fixture counts and existing CI are not tests performed by this review.

Repository activity

9 open issues / 0 open PRs, unchanged from October 10. The complete all-state issue collection has 18 records including PRs; the PR collection has 8 historical entries. Both were exhausted with an empty second page at 100 records/page. No new, closed or merged item since the October 10 01:10 UTC snapshot. Issue-comment and PR inline-comment collections since that cutoff are empty. Latest PR #20 remains merged and its review collection is empty. There is no open-PR review queue. Open roadmap issues #7–#12 and #16–#18 remain unassigned, without milestones; no owner, completion percentage or date is inferred.

Read root AGENTS.md, docs/local-dev.md, .github/ci-policy.md and the compiler-development skill/pipeline reference. Root, .github and docs inventories found no CONTRIBUTING guide; inspected compiler and test ancestor inventories contain no nested AGENTS. Root instructions request execution for implementation, but this review retains the stricter static-only scope. Large-file line-range reads returned empty content, so immutable blob reads were used instead. No code was executed to obtain coverage.

Incoming work and targeted static coverage

All 38 incoming commit subjects and all 19 changed-path records were enumerated. New author work expands wrapper replacement/partitioning, unary for_each/for_each_n, compaction, adjacent comparisons, equal/mismatch, search/find_end/search_n and independently const-qualified wrapper inputs. Commit-message validation claims remain author reports.

  • Frontend.cpp: read the complete aggregate 12-line using-declaration allowlist change and surrounding pinned-header/redeclaration checks at lines 14581–14750. Each newly admitted name selects its own libc++ header; unchanged origin checks still apply.
  • MathSDK.cpp: read complete latest find_first_of and four-iterator mismatch authentication patches (235 and 440 added lines), including public/helper signatures, independent input qualification, exact SDK origin, direct transparent comparator construction, pair field identity, iterator unwrap/rewrap, bounded helper delegation, loop termination and actual predicate operands. Reviewed the shared transparent-comparison proof, including both operand reference types, forwarding and conversion provenance.
  • Lowering.cpp: inspected aggregate additions for wrapper range operations, with full current-function tracing focused on equal, find_first_of, and mismatch. Checked length precheck, either-range end guards, first-match/first-failed-predicate results, correct pointer types, live referent reads and per-argument snapshots/result helpers at lines 2492–2531.
  • Scalar comparison: traced the new direct scalar operator path at Lowering.cpp lines 2261–2275 through MathSDK.cpp lines 3107–3205. It retains common-type/integer promotion rules and directly emits floating-point <= and >= instead of negating a lexicographic less-than result. This is incoming author work, not a new fix by this review. Aggregate comparisons retain their existing recursive path.
  • Fixture sources: inspected selected latest find_first_of cases covering const first/second inputs, alias identity, live values, empty input/choice ranges, all comparison operators, NaN, signed zero, result use, argument temporary cleanup, plus the source/lifetime rejection table. The old mixed-qualification rejection is narrowed to heterogeneous wrapper referents. These are source assertions, not observed test passes.
  • Prior fix follow-up: inspected exact-21fa8714 workflow/job results and the Windows archive-audit log; see the CI distinction below.

Limits: this is not an exhaustive review of all 36 author commits or the repository. The incoming MathSDK.cpp delta is 12,972 additions / 52 deletions, Lowering.cpp 787 / 75, and TranslateTests.cpp 35,043 additions. Most SDK recognizers and test additions were not reviewed end-to-end; earlier replacement/partition/unary/search expansions received diff-level rather than complete semantic proof review. Multilingual prose, full LLVM/DynCode/runtime/std behavior, native packaging and runtime semantics are outside today's complete coverage. No unproven behavior was widened or speculative patch committed.

Findings and uncertainties

No new statically proven bug was established in the reviewed paths. Independent const qualification is intentionally limited to the same unqualified wrapper type; heterogeneous referents remain rejected. Missing execution evidence is a validation limitation, not proof of a defect. Remaining acceptance questions include broad wrapper composition/aliasing coverage and native packaging on exact source revisions.

Existing CI snapshot

At 01:03 UTC, exact source db9c874f94259cdf07c5a47924d21e63b2a80fe4 has 11 workflows: 5 in progress / 6 queued and 22 checks: 3 successful / 6 in progress / 13 queued. The full reported totals fit the retrieved 100-entry pages; legacy commit-status contexts are empty. There is no open PR head to sample.

Workflow Sampled state

The three successful individual checks are Ubuntu archive-audit, official artifact policy and VBS signing bootstrap. A successful setup/policy or individual matrix job is not a successful parent workflow or final compiler acceptance.

Yesterday's exact fix 21fa8714 now has 1 successful / 8 cancelled workflows. Importantly, the overall cpp-frontend-tools workflow is cancelled, while its Windows archive-audit job and Ubuntu archive-audit job succeeded; macOS was cancelled. The Windows log was read. This is narrower positive automatic-CI evidence, not proof that the four new padding cases were individually executed, and not completed native compiler/package validation. The exact-fix lint-docs workflow succeeded. No cancelled run is called a passed test, and no specific cancellation cause is inferred.

The repository documents newest-run cancellation and Markdown-only platform-build filtering. This report does not change or disable workflows and adds no CI-skip marker. Any automatically created documentation checks are separate from the reviewed source and should be refreshed before use as release evidence.

Suggested priorities (not delivery commitments)

  1. Close exact-revision native acceptance gaps. Dependency: completed existing platform workflows and readable final gate/log evidence on a revision containing 21fa8714. Acceptance: distinguish passed, failed, cancelled and never-run compiler/package stages; verify COFF padding coverage explicitly rather than relying on a green aggregate label.
  2. Reconcile #16 with independent-qualification and comparator support. Dependency: bounded supported-profile documentation and positive/negative fixture evidence. Acceptance: explicitly distinguish implemented, statically inspected and executed cases for same-wrapper const inputs, six predicates, empty/end results, NaN, binding identity and cleanup.
  3. Review the remaining new recognizers in bounded batches. Dependency: exact source and selected SDK body/consumer contracts. Acceptance: complete end-to-end review of replacement/partition/unary/search paths and focused fixture mapping before claiming broad coverage; do not infer completion from test-source counts.

Current snapshot — 2026-10-10

  • Cutoff: 2026-10-10 01:10 UTC / 09:10 Asia/Shanghai (UTC+08:00).
  • Source branch: dev; reviewed incoming revision: 2d04061a.
  • Incoming window: 76d092f9…2d04061a, 42 commits / 22 paths. Excluding the October 9 report-only commit and PROGRESS.md: 41 product commits / 21 paths.
  • Result: one statically proven COFF linker-index padding bug fixed in 21fa8714. Remote parent, two-file diff, dev ref and both complete file contents were verified. No additional proven translator defect in the bounded scope below.
  • Method: strictly static source, diff, caller/interface, fixture-source and existing-CI reads. No project execution, build, test, benchmark, repository script, manual CI dispatch/rerun, dependency/security change, issue mutation, merge or deployment. The new regression source was not executed. Existing automatic CI is separate evidence, not validation performed by this review.

Repository activity and scope

9 open issues / 0 open PRs, unchanged. Open issues are #7–#12 and #16–#18; none has comments, an assignee or a milestone. The complete issues collection has 18 records including PRs; the complete PR collection has 8 historical PRs. Both were exhausted at page 2 with 100 records/page. No new, closed or merged items since the October 9 snapshot. Issue conversation and PR inline-comment collections returned no activity since October 9 01:10 UTC. Latest PR #20 remains merged with zero submitted reviews. There is no open-PR review queue; no owner, deadline or completion percentage is inferred.

Read root AGENTS.md, docs/local-dev.md, CI scheduling guidance and the compiler-development skill/pipeline reference. Ancestor directory inventories found no nested AGENTS on the inspected compiler, test, docs and utility paths; root, .github and docs inventories found no separate CONTRIBUTING guide. Repository execution guidance was read but not exercised under the static-only constraint. Operations used the GitHub connector; no local project checkout was executed.

All 42 incoming commit subjects and all changed-path metadata were enumerated. Product changes cover:

  • neverc/lib/Translate/Cpp/Frontend/{Frontend.cpp,Lowering.cpp,MathSDK.cpp,IsolateMathCoffSymbols.py,IsolateMathCoffSymbolsTests.py,BundleArchive.cmake,CMakeLists.txt}
  • tests/neverc/{TranslateTests.cpp,CppFrontendToolchainTests.py}
  • utils/translate-frontends/docs/cpp-core-v2.md
  • docs/translate.md and the 10 translated docs/{ar,de,es,fr,it,ja,ko,ru,zh-CN,zh-TW}/translate.md pages.

Incoming author work expands initialized numeric operations, unary/binary wrapper transforms, logical predicates and copy/remove-copy filtering with homogeneous wrapper outputs. Author 07bb5d27 replaces objcopy-based math isolation with a direct COFF writer to preserve ordinary/bigobj format; 73ff8721 aligns its native witness invocation. These descriptions and commit-message validation counts are not independent execution evidence.

Targeted static coverage

  • Read all aggregate Frontend.cpp changes (24 added lines), tracing the new SDK using-declaration allowlist through its pinned-path and redeclaration checks at lines 14581–14740.
  • Read both latest commits' complete MathSDK.cpp patches for homogeneous wrapper copy_if/remove_copy_if output: 429 and 246 added lines. Traced exact implicit/trivial SDK copy assignment, wrapper identity and qualifiers, complete filter-loop authentication, direct transparent logical_not construction, forwarding/conversion provenance, helper pair projection and returned iterator admission.
  • Read the shared current filter-copy lowering, its new five-line wrapper-output change, and range capture/result helpers. The record-output path copies the wrapper binding; scalar output rereads the selected referent. Empty-range guard, input/output advancement, result type and operand snapshots were inspected.
  • Read the complete logical_and/logical_or SDK authentication bodies at MathSDK.cpp lines 40350–40915 and corresponding Lowering.cpp lines 11419–11596. The right referent is emitted on the selected control-flow edge; independent Boolean/output conversion and iterator updates were traced. Inspected the logical_and short-circuit fixture source.
  • Read all 904 added lines and the one changed rejection case in the latest TranslateTests.cpp patch. Covered binding identity, aliased/live/const referents, empty input, NaN/signed zero, stable selection, operand effects/cleanup, result use and negative source/lifetime boundaries. Fixture source is not an executed pass.
  • Reviewed all changed math-isolation writer/test, BundleArchive, CMake dependency and CppFrontendToolchainTests hunks, plus relevant HostCoffSymbols and RewriteSetupCoffSymbols parser/index contracts, object-byte invariants and archive-fixture construction. Read caller signatures and the native witness pipeline. Independently cross-checked the padding defect and final minimal patch; no object/header/symbol/auxiliary/index verification was weakened.

Limits: this is not a whole-repository audit or an exhaustive review of all 41 product commits. Most of the 11,671 added MathSDK lines, 2,043 added Lowering lines and 35,641 added translator-test lines were not reviewed end-to-end. Earlier numeric expansions, all wrapper compositions, multilingual prose, runtime behavior and native packaging remain incompletely covered. GitHub omitted the aggregate Lowering/MathSDK/TranslateTests patches due to size; bounded commit patches and exact source blobs supported the inspected portions. No new full LLVM/DynCode, runtime/std or unrelated packaging audit was performed.

Confirmed finding and published fix

P2: stale in-member COFF linker-index alignment after longer math symbol names.

  • Location: incoming writer lines 220–243.
  • Trigger: a supported linker index has a trailing in-member NUL and an odd number of indexed math renames. Each rename adds 11 bytes, changing the unpadded name-table parity. The writer retained the old NUL.
  • Static proof: a single 22-byte log10 name becomes 33 bytes. The first index's unpadded payload becomes 42 bytes, but the old NUL makes it 43; the second becomes 48 plus the same invalid extra NUL. HostCoffSymbols.names permits a NUL tail only after an odd position. The output is therefore rejected, isolate removes staging output, and BundleArchive fails. This is distinct from the correctly handled outer archive newline.
  • Fix: 21fa8714 computes each new unpadded size first and keeps an existing NUL only if still required. Originally unpadded indices remain unpadded. Object bytes, ordinary/bigobj format, member ordering, representative multiplicity and all existing verification remain unchanged.
  • Regression source: one new method covers first-only, second-only, both and neither index padding. The fixture moves an existing external newline into the declared member as a NUL without changing its footprint or member offsets. Existing before/after parsing, pair verification, source immutability and object-byte assertions are retained.
  • Publication evidence: one atomic commit, 2 files / 34 additions / 3 deletions, based on the freshly reread 2d04061a head; non-forced expected-head update; exact remote diff and both contents verified. dev was unprotected and the visible repository ruleset disabled at precheck.
  • Verification limit: no build or test was run. This is a statically demonstrated defect, not an attribution of a currently observed CI failure. The author's broader COFF writer work remains separately credited.

The earlier ff6dc23c function-reference fixes and 849bb7c2 short-string fix remain historical author-completed work, not outstanding patches to retry.

Existing CI snapshot

Observed 2026-10-10 01:08–01:10 UTC. The exact-source navigation log independently records 16 layout tests passing; 736 navigable pages / 11 locales / 1,201 resolving reference definitions / 82 unfinished translations. Docs facts and all three archive-audit jobs succeeded. These narrow checks are not full compiler/platform acceptance.

The current ARM64 Clang/LTO job passed the real-COFF witness and was building the compiler. Windows x64 was building; packaging had not been reached. No final compiler/platform success or reproduction of the historical header mismatch is asserted.

Yesterday's exact source 76d092f9 is now terminal: 2 successful / 9 cancelled workflows. The two successes are cpp-frontend-tools and lint-docs; cancelled native workflows supply no final native acceptance. The repository CI policy documents newest-run cancellation, but no unverified cancellation cause is assigned to an individual run.

The newly published fix 21fa8714fb6ef2ddb422ddbf620eb28dc2de619b automatically acquired 9 workflows (7 pending / 2 queued) and 5 queued checks at 01:10 UTC. Fix archive-audit workflow and fix docs workflow were queued. No fix check had completed. Additional checks may appear and incoming-source runs may be cancelled as automatic CI advances. Neither these automatic workflows nor report-only checks were dispatched, rerun, modified or disabled by this review.

Suggested priorities (not delivery commitments)

  1. Obtain exact-fix COFF evidence. Dependency: existing automatic 21fa8714 workflow results and readable real-archive evidence. Acceptance: the four padding combinations and existing object/index invariants pass on the exact fix, followed by native Windows packaging/witness evidence. A fixture/source proof alone does not certify all SDK archives.
  2. Finish classifying native compiler/platform results. Dependency: completed exact-SHA workflows, final test-gate results and failing logs/artifacts where applicable. Acceptance: distinguish successful, failed, cancelled and never-run stages; do not treat a green test-running step as a passed final gate or carry old failures forward to new code.
  3. Reconcile #16 acceptance with the expanded wrapper surface. Dependency: positive/negative source-boundary fixtures plus exact-revision runtime/installed-package evidence. Acceptance: distinguish implemented, statically reviewed and executed behavior, particularly binding-copy versus referent-write semantics, aliasing and short-circuit reads. No inferred owner, delivery date or percentage.

Activity and coverage

9 open issues / 0 open PRs, unchanged. The complete issues collection has 18 records including PRs; the complete PR collection has 8 historical PRs. Both exhausted at page 2 with 100 records/page. No newly created, closed or merged item since the preceding October 8 02:11 UTC snapshot. No issue conversation or PR inline review comments were returned for that interval. Latest PR #20 remains merged and has no submitted reviews. There is no open-PR review queue; open issues #7–#12 and #16–#18 remain roadmap work rather than assigned delivery commitments.

Read root AGENTS.md, docs/local-dev.md and the compiler-development skill/pipeline reference. Direct ancestor checks found no nested AGENTS on the inspected compiler/test paths; root, .github and docs CONTRIBUTING checks found no separate guide. All operations used the GitHub connector.

Enumerated all 35 commit subjects and changed-path metadata. Incoming author work expands reference-wrapper algorithms through max/minmax, sorted/heap queries, lexicographical comparison, merge/set operations, bounds/search, list selection and numeric accumulation/product/scan/reduction. These are implementation descriptions, not release certification.

Targeted static inspection:

  • Read all aggregate Frontend.cpp changed hunks (60 added lines) and Lowering.cpp hunks (424 additions / 118 deletions), checking wrapper referent extraction, comparator fallback, result/reference storage and the shared short-string decoder.
  • Read complete current numeric lowering around lines 4585–5165: reduction input/accumulator evaluation, empty-range guard before dereference, separate product and sum conversions, wrapper adjacent-difference storage, and exclusive-scan input capture before output writes.
  • Read the latest commit's entire 327-line MathSDK.cpp addition for transform-reduce authentication and operation admission. Checked exact public/delegate signatures, SDK origin/redeclarations, transparent plus/multiplies, forwarding and referent conversions, loop condition/increments, accumulator assignment and return. Re-read the shared arithmetic promotion/conversion helper at lines 3107–3202.
  • Read all 972 added lines of the latest commit's regression source: live/aliased/const and mixed-type referents, empty input, signed zero/NaN, narrow accumulator, operand effects/cleanup, and negative source/lifetime boundaries. Fixture names and commit-message validation counts are not results produced by this review.
  • Read the complete 849bb7c2 patch, including its 148 regression-source lines. Re-traced current string layout admission (MathSDK.cpp lines 6375–6508) and the shared decoder/callers in Lowering.cpp. Default layout now masks the metadata byte before dividing by two, so character bytes sharing the size_t word no longer inflate the length; alternate-layout decoding remains separate.

Limits: not a whole-repository audit or an exhaustive audit of all 34 product commits. Most of the aggregate 10,766 added MathSDK lines and 32,538 added test-source lines remain unreviewed; earlier algorithm authentication, all wrapper compositions, multilingual prose and native platform behavior are not fully covered. Aggregate MathSDK/test patches were omitted by GitHub due to size; the latest bounded commit patch and exact source blobs were used for inspected portions. A contents-range read of the large Lowering.cpp returned empty and was replaced with its exact blob. LLVM/DynCode, runtime/std and unrelated packaging were not newly audited end-to-end.

Findings, changes and remaining evidence gaps

  1. Author-fixed short-string defect: 849bb7c2 centralizes short-size extraction for access, copies, mutation, iteration and container comparisons. The trigger was a default-layout short string with character data in the same machine word as its metadata. The source patch masks with 255 before dividing by 2; the source fixtures cover both layouts and short/long boundaries. No duplicate patch was made and no runtime pass is claimed.
  2. Earlier reference-binding defects remain author-resolved: ff6dc23c is historical completed work, not an outstanding blocked patch. The present delta does not modify its binding/functionValue regions.
  3. Yesterday's incomplete Windows ARM64 Clang/LTO run is now final: job 113027948738, on the old source 68c4b2fd, failed its final Fail if tests failed gate at October 8 02:44 UTC. Compiler/runtime build, packaging, relocated archives and Plugin SDK steps succeeded; the test-running step itself is marked success, but the final gate is failure. Individual failing tests/root cause were not established here. The old source now has 2 successful / 9 failed workflows, replacing yesterday's 2 success / 8 failure / 1 running snapshot.
  4. No current-head failure has yet been established. Earlier Windows x64 COFF header-mismatch and Linux test-gate failures remain historical diagnostic leads, not automatically failures of 76d092f9. No speculative weakening of archive invariants or test gates was made.

Both 100-item responses contain their complete reported totals; additional checks can appear as workflows advance. This is dev/source CI, with no open PR head. It is not validation run by this review.

The successful checks are documentation facts, Ubuntu archive-audit and the non-interactive VBS signing bootstrap. Their success is not success of the compiler/platform suites. The report-only commit can receive automatic workflows; none are manually triggered, rerun, modified or disabled.

Suggested priorities (not delivery commitments)

  1. Classify exact-head native CI before treating the new algorithms as verified. Dependency: completed 76d092f9 workflow/job evidence. Acceptance: record terminal platform results and specific failing stages/tests, distinguishing old 68c4b2fd failures. No manual CI action is part of this review.
  2. Narrow the historical COFF/test-gate diagnostic leads if reproduced on the new head. Dependency: before/after metadata for the failing archive member and readable failed-test evidence. Acceptance: a statically justified minimal fix or a precise unresolved cause; retain header/symbol/auxiliary invariants and do not equate a green test-running step with a green final gate.
  3. Reconcile #16 acceptance with the expanded wrapper/numeric surface. Dependency: source-boundary fixtures and exact-SHA native/installed-package evidence, including both string layouts and mixed-type numeric conversions. Acceptance: separate implemented, statically inspected and executed evidence while retaining unsupported boundaries; no inferred percentage, owner or deadline.

Read root AGENTS.md, local-development instructions and the compiler-development skill/pipeline reference. Explicit ancestor checks found no nested AGENTS on the inspected compiler/test paths; root, .github and docs CONTRIBUTING checks found no separate guide. The repository's execution guidance is deliberately not exercised because this review is static-only.

Enumerated all 39 commit subjects and changed-path metadata. Incoming work adds borrowed wrapper signature queries and wrapper swap/copy/move/fill/search/comparison/minimum algorithms; these descriptions do not establish native verification. The changed paths comprise Frontend.cpp, Frontend.h, Lowering.cpp, MathSDK.cpp, TranslateTests.cpp, the cpp-core-v2 guide and 11 translated/main translate.md pages, plus the prior report.

Targeted inspection:

  • Read the 14-line function-reference fix and all 324 added regression-source lines in ff6dc23c. Re-traced current bind, functionValue, static-member lvalue, and transparent reference-list validation.
  • Inspected aggregate Lowering.cpp changed hunks for wrapper exchange, referent comparisons, find/count/equal/mismatch, remove/replace/unique and find-first-of. Read the complete current minimum/maximum lowering block (roughly lines 5868–5961): empty input branches before dereference, strict less-than retains the first minimum, and returned storage remains the original iterator.
  • Read the latest commit's MathSDK.cpp patch: scalar comparison proof, callable/iterator category proof, comparator-reference alias provenance, pinned minimum delegate/identity/loop authentication and operation admission. Inspected selected minimum regression-source cases for empty ranges, equal minima, live/aliased/const referents, argument effects, cleanup and negative source/lifetime boundaries. Source fixtures and author-reported counts are not executed results from this review.
  • Inspected the changed Frontend.h declaration and selected Frontend.cpp borrowed-query preparation/admission hunks. Re-read IsolateMathCoffSymbols.py and BundleArchive.cmake against the current Windows failure.

Limits: not a whole-repository audit or complete audit of all 38 product commits. Earlier algorithm authentication changes, all wrapper compositions, remaining frontend query paths, the full 26,684-line test addition, and multilingual prose were not exhaustively reviewed. The aggregate MathSDK/test patches were omitted by GitHub due to size; bounded commit patches and exact source blobs were used where inspected. No new end-to-end audit of LLVM/DynCode, runtime/std or unrelated packaging occurred.

Resolved findings and current blockers

  1. Resolved in source by author ff6dc23c: braced function-reference binding now unwraps only an authenticated transparent single-element InitListExpr before recursively lowering its initializer. Object-qualified static function-reference VarDecls now use the existing lvalue/storage path rather than the FunctionDecl path. Receiver effects and full-expression cleanup follow the existing lvalue implementation. Current remote diff and source confirm both changes; the added positive/negative regression source was inspected but not run here. The former proposed patch is superseded and must not be reapplied.
  2. Observed current-head Windows x64 packaging failure: job 113028001975 reports at October 7 23:32 UTC: Math COFF isolation: member 0 ... Frontend.cpp.obj: object header changed, followed by BundleArchive.cmake:81. Its 17 math-isolation fixture tests passed immediately before the real archive failed. The verifier compares machine, timestamp, characteristics and bigobj together; this log does not identify which field differs. The previously identified bigobj-format compatibility risk is relevant but is not proved to be this failure's unique root cause. Do not relax header/symbol/auxiliary/index invariants without actual before/after evidence. No speculative fix was made.
  3. Other exact-head CI failures need separate diagnosis. Linux x64 build/install/package/archive relocation and plugin steps completed; its test-running step is marked success but the later Fail if tests failed step fails. Thus a green test-running step is not proof all tests passed. Large Linux job logs could not be retrieved through the connector (transport closed twice); exact failing test names/root causes remain unverified. Other platform failures below were inventoried, not individually diagnosed.

Existing CI at the exact reviewed source

Observed October 8 02:09–02:11 UTC for 68c4b2fd07b7fdf55a0203787c90e15e6e8946c5. 11 workflows: 2 success, 8 failure, 1 in progress. 24 checks: 11 success, 10 failure, 2 skipped, 1 in progress. Collections returned their complete reported totals on one 100-item page. There are no open PR heads; this is dev/source CI, not newly executed review validation.

Workflow State
lint-docs success
cpp-frontend-tools success

Windows ARM64 failure
Windows x64 Clang/LTO failure
Linux x64 failure
Linux ARM64 failure
macOS ARM64 failure
Python plugin bindings failure (mixed matrix outcomes)
VBS enclave differential CI failure; differential runtime skipped

The current Windows ARM64 Clang/LTO job has passed its real-COFF witness, compiler build, postbuild evidence, runtime build, packaging, both relocated archives and Plugin SDK load. Its compiler tests were still running; no full success is asserted. The old pow witness failure is not a current-head failure.

The current docs navigation log independently confirms 16 layout tests passed; 736 pages / 11 locales / 1,201 resolving reference definitions; 82 unfinished translations. Documentation facts also passed. Successful archive-audit fixtures do not override the real Windows x64 isolation failure. Latest commit validation counts remain author-reported unless backed by separately read CI evidence.

Suggested priorities (not delivery commitments)

  1. Resolve the Windows x64 math-archive header mismatch. Dependency: actual before/after header and symbol/auxiliary metadata for the failing member. Acceptance: a narrowly explained preservation change and existing/authorized later exact-SHA native archive evidence, with all isolation invariants retained. Root cause must be narrowed before code changes.
  2. Classify current platform and test failures. Dependency: readable exact-job logs/artifacts, including Linux's final test gate. Acceptance: failing test/build stage mapped to exact revision and underlying cause; ARM64 Clang/LTO's final result recorded separately. No manual rerun is part of this static review.
  3. Reconcile #16 acceptance with the new wrapper algorithms and resolved reference fixes. Dependency: exact-SHA positive/negative fixture and installed-package/platform evidence. Acceptance: distinguish implemented, statically inspected and natively verified behavior, retaining unsupported boundaries. No inferred owner, percentage or deadline.

Repository and activity status

The complete open-issue inventory contains 9 issues, #7–#12 and #16–#18, unchanged. All have zero comments, no assignee and no milestone. There are 0 open PRs. The full PR inventory contains eight historical PRs; the latest, #20, remains merged with zero submitted reviews, inline review comments and conversation comments. Paginated collections were exhausted; no issue/PR updates or issue conversation comments were returned for the interval beginning October 6 00:00 UTC. No owner, deadline or completion percentage is inferred.

The UI architecture/API/HAL/host proposals (#7–#12), source-translation roadmap (#16), Studio RFC (#17), and Engine RFC (#18) remain open. #16 still requires evidence-backed P0–P3 acceptance before its bounded C++ baseline closes; E Language is the first subsequent adapter. Current implementation growth does not itself satisfy the installed-package, differential-runtime and platform gates.

Incoming changes and exact coverage

The 17 changed paths since the October 6 review are:

  • neverc/lib/Translate/Cpp/Frontend/{Frontend.cpp,Frontend.h,Lowering.cpp,MathSDK.cpp}
  • tests/neverc/TranslateTests.cpp
  • utils/translate-frontends/docs/cpp-core-v2.md
  • docs/translate.md and docs/{ar,de,es,fr,it,ja,ko,ru,zh-CN,zh-TW}/translate.md

The 54 commit subjects and aggregate file metadata were enumerated. They describe checked function-pointer traits in object/container storage, reference-wrapper invocation and ownership, nested vector emplacement, zero-argument optional emplacement, and lazy memory/allocator/pointer-traits signature queries. These are source/author descriptions, not independently executed feature certification.

Read root AGENTS.md, local-development and CI scheduling guidance, and the compiler-development skill and pipeline reference. Direct ancestor checks found no applicable nested AGENTS.md on the inspected compiler, test, documentation and utility paths; root, .github and docs contributing-guide checks found no separate CONTRIBUTING.md.

This is a targeted review, not a complete audit of all 54 commits:

  • Re-traced function-reference binding and functionValue through all functionValue alternatives, and the frontend's transparent-list/source-function checks
  • Inspected the latest commit's complete Frontend.cpp patch and 372-line regression-source addition: pure pointer_traits queries; nested, qualified and source-record wrappers; unevaluated effects; source/default/template dependencies; unsupported layouts; source replacement and independent function-address rejection
  • Inspected selected aggregate frontend query-source/default permission changes, SDK function-constant identity and lazy trait metadata, plus the exact nested-vector admission, nested-vector construction, and wrapper argument/value lowering
  • Rechecked the unchanged COFF isolation verifier and pinned LLVM 20.1.8 writer behavior, and independently read current documentation CI logs and Windows ARM64 Clang/LTO step results

Uncovered: remaining frontend/SDK/lowering changes, full empty-base/lifetime compositions, the complete multilingual prose and the full test-file delta are not exhaustively audited. GitHub reports 128,376 additions and 105,194 deletions in TranslateTests.cpp, a net 23,182 lines; this churn must not be described as 233,570 newly added tests or lines. LLVM/DynCode, std/runtime, packaging and unrelated modules were not newly audited end-to-end. Aggregate MathSDK/test patches were omitted by GitHub due to size; exact relevant source blobs and the latest commit's bounded test patch were used instead.

Confirmed defects and conditional blocker

  1. Braced function-reference initialization remains unhandled in functionValue. The frontend authenticates a transparent single-element glvalue list in referenceListInitializer and its initializer traversal. Binding a function reference selects functionValue, whose alternatives lack InitListExpr unwrapping, ending in the function-designator rejection. A form such as F &r{target} therefore has an admission/lowering mismatch. The ordinary lvalue path already uses the checked helper. This is statically confirmed; no reproducer was executed.

  2. Object-qualified static function-reference data members are misclassified. functionValue's MemberExpr branch handles reference FieldDecls, then treats every remaining member as FunctionDecl. A static function-reference data member is a VarDecl, so its cast is null and functionAddressTarget rejects it. The existing lvalue path can preserve static storage and receiver effects. This is statically confirmed; no runtime/crash claim is made.

Both findings were identified in the October 6 review and reconfirmed at this SHA. They remain confirmed, not patched in the reviewed head; publication blocked. No passing regression result or unpublished patch is presented as repository state.

  1. Conditional COFF format-preservation blocker remains. verify_pair requires identical bigobj/header and symbol identities. The pinned LLVM 20.1.8 writer chooses bigobj solely from output section count; an input bigobj below the threshold is emitted as ordinary COFF. That combination conflicts with the verifier. FILE auxiliary-slot sizing also depends on output symbol width and needs preservation analysis. This is a conditional compatibility problem, not an observed failure of the current workflow. Merely relaxing the bigobj check would leave symbol/auxiliary/index invariants unresolved.

Totals: 11 workflows: 1 successful, 6 in progress, 4 queued. 22 check runs: 6 successful, 9 in progress, 7 queued. No failed checks were observed at this sample; running/queued work has no final result. There are zero legacy status contexts; the legacy API's empty pending aggregate is not a failed check.

The current documentation-navigation log independently shows 16 layout tests passed, 736 pages navigable across 11 locales, 1,201 resolving reference definitions and 82 unfinished translations. Documentation facts passed for 132 plugin pages, 11 release locales, 130 schema phases and 1,893 distinct citations.

The Windows ARM64 Clang/LTO job passed “Verify builtin C++ audit with real COFF archives” at 00:57:43 UTC, then passed witness-manifest/upload steps. Its compiler build began at 00:57:47 and was still running; compiler tests, runtime, packaging and relocation remained pending. This narrow witness success is not whole-job success and does not disprove the conditional bigobj input problem.

The latest author commit reports 20 focused tests, 13 O0/O2 native runtime comparisons, 11 rejection guards, nine protocol fixtures and 36 pinned-SDK cross-target syntax checks. Those are author-reported validation claims, separate from the independently observed CI above; this review did not execute them. Historical failures in archived snapshots are not automatically failures of this SHA.

Suggested priorities

  1. Close the two function-reference lowering gaps. Dependency: resolve the blocked code publication and rebase the smallest change against current source. Acceptance: reuse checked transparent-list/static-storage handling, preserve receiver side effects/cleanup, add focused positive and rejection regression source, verify the exact remote diff, then obtain separately authorized execution evidence. Owner unassigned.
  2. Resolve COFF bigobj preservation without weakening provenance. Dependency: an actual low-section bigobj input and the pinned writer/reader/index contract. Acceptance: preserve member format, sections, relocations, symbol indices and FILE auxiliaries together, with authorized native evidence; distinguish it from the now-passing witness stage. Owner unassigned.
  3. Reconcile #16's acceptance matrix with exact-revision evidence. Dependency: completion of relevant compiler/runtime/relocation CI and a bounded support inventory. Acceptance: map implemented features to source, positive/negative fixture coverage, observed native results and installed-package evidence; keep unfinished platform gates and the 82 untranslated pages explicit. Owner unassigned.

Yesterday's reviewed revision 69ee0d07 now has 2 successful, 1 failed and 8 cancelled workflows. Its cancellations and yesterday's running states are not today's source result. All eight failures below were independently observed on 165dea40; the available metadata establishes failed stages, while only the Windows ARM64 Clang/LTO witness has a fully retrieved failure log.

Static review coverage — 2026-10-05

  • Read root AGENTS.md, docs/local-dev.md, .github/ci-policy.md, the relevant compiler-development guidance, and translation/SDK contracts. Root and scoped ancestor inventories found no applicable nested AGENTS/CONTRIBUTING instructions on the reviewed paths. Build/test guidance was read but not executed.
  • Reviewed all 63 aggregate Frontend.cpp diff hunks, with exact-source inspection of function-reference casts and designator sources, const-qualified array binding, empty-base result exclusion, pinned SDK class-template imports, call-local unevaluated array indexing, conditional swap trait collection, and source-completion queues.
  • Traced retained special-member selection, selected-operation/default dependencies, and consumed-signature/query completion. Read the new IsolateSymbols selection hooks, their complete AuditArchiveTests patch, Frontend.h descriptors and Consumer callbacks. This checks source ownership, selected defaults, destruction, lazy bodies, failure completion and bounded worklists, not execution equivalence.
  • Reviewed all 17 MathSDK.cpp diff hunks (1,236 additions / 96 deletions), exact pinned array/exchange/swap/is_swappable/pointer_traits/addressof/nothrow-trait headers and relevant consumers. Array query admission remains call-local; evaluated bounds and operation restrictions remain separate. Conditional swap retains both operation-trait sources even after a false first result.
  • Reviewed all changed Lowering.cpp and Project.cpp hunks, including operand snapshots before exchange reads, explicit subscript argument positioning, discarded function-cast effects, and canonical conversion-target/noexcept identities. Read surrounding function-value and identity consumers.
  • Read the latest lazy-defaulted-operation commit's complete test patch: positive, negative and value/lifetime fixtures, including selected copy fallback, explicit outer specifications, defaults, field initializers, nested queries, hidden source and actual-use boundaries. Also sampled array conditional-swap, element/empty-element/at query-to-runtime leakage and deep-qualification controls. The full 26,316-line incoming test-file delta was not exhaustively audited.
  • High-risk std rotation traced both bigint formatting branches, public declarations, checked-copy/allocation helpers, division and multiplication fallback paths, output consumers and the existing MathBigAllocationFailure registration. Rechecked the previous regexp fix and regression-source patches; they are unchanged by today's work.
  • No additional statically proven translator regression was established. No speculative frontend widening, SDK witness substitution, broad refactor, dependency or CI/security configuration change was made.

Confirmed fix and verification

The public formatting contract requires an error result on allocation failure. The old formatter used void scratch-copy/division operations without consistently checking failure before publishing output. Static control-flow inspection shows that allocation failure could reach the success return with incomplete formatting.

54829407 uses the existing checked copy in the small path and the existing thread-local failure mechanism around divide-and-conquer copy/emission. It stops further chunk emission after failure, restores the previous tracker, cleans up and returns an error before copying scratch output to the caller. Existing safe power-table/buffer and multiplication fallbacks remain available.

The extended test_big_oom.c source covers both signs, small-copy failure, zero formatting, every allocation in a healthy 160-word hexadecimal D&C path, exact successful fallback, unchanged output on error, unchanged input and subsequent successful calls. The existing StdLibTest.MathBigAllocationFailure registration already includes it. This is unexecuted regression source, not a passing test result. That selected large case exercises Knuth division inside D&C; default Burnikel–Ziegler coverage and non-null prior-tracker restoration were not regression-tested. The latter was checked by source inspection.

The exact remote fix commit, two-file diff and complete file contents were read back and verified. Its automatic-CI snapshot is recorded separately below; pre-fix results do not validate the fix.

lint-docs Successful: navigation and documentation facts
cpp-frontend-tools Successful across three archive-audit jobs
VBS enclave differential CI Successful across its three jobs

The current Windows ARM64 Clang/LTO log ran 24 witness tests and failed four configurations (MSVC/Clang at O0/O2): consumed MSVC 14.51.36231 cmath has no line matching the fixture's expected _GENERIC_MATH2(pow) form. Compiler build, runtime, compiler-test and packaging/relocation steps were skipped. This is direct evidence for this SHA, not an inference from yesterday.

The current navigation log reports all 16 layout regressions passing and the documentation inventory above. The other seven failed job logs could not be retrieved through the available connector (transport errors; three representative retries also failed). Failed-step metadata is verified, but their underlying diagnostics and any relationship to this interval remain unconfirmed. The small Python driver-log artifact was readable but did not contain the global-state failure's diagnostic.

Fix revision 54829407: at 2026-10-05 01:13 UTC, 12 automatic workflows were observed (2 successful: lint-docs and lint-test-deps; 9 in progress; 1 queued), with 21 check runs (4 successful, 13 in progress, 4 queued). These collections had empty second pages. No fix-specific runtime pass is established. These are automatically scheduled observations, not tests initiated by this review. No CI skip marker was added to either commit. Refresh exact-SHA results before using either revision for release decisions.

Top three suggested priorities

  1. Diagnose the completed platform and plugin failures from their actual diagnostics. Four platform test gates, two network-example builds and Linux Python global-state checking now have failed outcomes, with the missing-log limits above.

    • Dependency: retrieve the failing test summaries/example diagnostics and plugin global-state evidence for this exact revision; distinguish code defects, environment failures and downstream skips before changing source.
    • Acceptance: each failure has an evidence-backed cause and scoped correction, followed by completed authorized exact-revision platform/plugin gates. Skipped gates remain explicit. No owner or deadline is inferred.
  2. Resolve the consumed Windows SDK witness mismatch and obtain native evidence for today's bigint fix.

    • Dependency: inspect the actual consumed SDK declaration/provenance rather than guessing a replacement; the formatter's new source-only fixture also needs matching-revision execution evidence through authorized validation.
    • Acceptance: all four witness configurations and previously blocked compiler/package gates have completed evidence without weakened source checks; bigint failure/fallback cases pass on the supported platform matrix. Static proof alone is not runtime validation.
  3. Reconcile #16 acceptance and translation documentation with the implemented boundaries. The roadmap remains open; 82 translations remain unfinished.

    • Dependency: map bounded P0–P3 gates to implementing commits, positive/negative fixture source and completed native/install evidence. Keep query-only, runtime and unsupported boundaries separate.
    • Acceptance: completion claims cite matching-revision evidence, unsupported gates remain visible, and real translation content is completed. E Language follows the bounded C++ P3 baseline; navigation success is not full C++/STL or translation completeness.

Inventory, publication and limitations

  • All-state issue/PR collections returned 18 issue/PR records and 8 PRs, with empty second pages at page size 100; PRs are excluded from issue totals. Latest PR #20's review/comment collections were empty. No exhaustive review of older closed-PR discussions is claimed.
  • The compare endpoint enumerated all 29 commits and 14 changed-file records; its second commit page was empty. GitHub omitted the aggregate TranslateTests.cpp patch; the latest commit's complete fixture patch and selected exact-source fixtures were used. Full Frontend.cpp/MathSDK.cpp/Lowering.cpp sources were retrieved through Git blobs/contents reads.
  • Exact-source workflow/check collections and all 11 workflow job collections were exhausted with empty second pages. The prior-source workflow collection was also exhausted. Four targeted artifact collections were exhausted; only the small Python driver log was downloaded and read.
  • The whole-repository recursive tree read failed; complete untruncated scoped inventories covered neverc (2,582 entries), tests (1,046), utils (142), .github (64), and std (621). No whole-repository or broad historical-CI completeness is claimed.
  • Publication precheck confirmed push permission, unprotected dev, and the sole visible ruleset disabled. Latest head/blob state was rechecked before writes; unrelated history and contributor text were retained. No permissions or rulesets were changed.
  • This is a bounded review, not a whole-repository audit or release certification. Earlier unchanged translator/std subsystems, all new fixtures, default BZ allocation-failure execution and the seven unavailable failure logs remain outside complete verification. No builds, tests, benchmarks, repository scripts, active CI actions, dependencies/security changes, issue mutation, merge or deployment were performed.

The previous source revision 2d65e5b1 now has 2 successful, 1 failed and 8 cancelled workflows. These are historical outcomes, not the current revision's results. In particular, the current Windows failure below was independently read at 69ee0d07; it is not a carried-forward inference.

Top three suggested priorities

  1. Resolve the current Windows ARM64 cmath witness blocker using the consumed SDK. The exact-source job ran 24 fixture tests and failed four configurations, MSVC/Clang at O0/O2. The fixture expects one _GENERIC_MATH2(pow) occurrence, but MSVC 14.51.36231's consumed cmath has zero matching lines. Compiler build, runtime build, compiler tests and package/relocation steps were skipped; the postbuild Setup-contract failure is downstream.

    • Dependency: inspect the actual consumed SDK declaration and provenance, not a guessed replacement from another SDK version.
    • Acceptance: explain the header-shape difference without weakening provenance checks; obtain completed exact-revision evidence for all four witness configurations and the previously blocked compiler/package gates. No owner or deadline is assigned by this report.
  2. Reconcile native evidence for the expanded conditional-move and std boundaries. The interval extends copy/move overload sets, access/friend ownership, lazy defaults and conversion-result exclusion; it also changes regexp, big integers, netip, HTTP/2 and QUIC.

    • Dependency: completed exact-SHA platform/runtime/installed-package evidence; running, queued and cancelled jobs do not establish a pass. The static review does not authorize additional execution.
    • Acceptance: each advertised boundary cites matching-revision positive/negative and runtime evidence, with skipped and unfinished gates explicit. Archive-audit or documentation success alone is insufficient.
  3. Reconcile issue #16 acceptance and remaining translations. The roadmap is still open, with no new comments or ownership changes. Passing navigation does not complete 82 unfinished translations or establish full C++/STL support.

    • Dependency: map the bounded P0–P3 gates to implementing revisions, reviewed fixtures and native/install evidence. E Language follows the bounded C++ P3 baseline.
    • Acceptance: completion statements retain unsupported boundaries and cite concrete evidence; prioritize real translation content rather than filler links.

Static review coverage — 2026-10-04

  • Read root AGENTS.md, docs/local-dev.md and .github/ci-policy.md. Root CONTRIBUTING.md returned 404. Root inventory and complete scoped recursive inventories for neverc, tests, utils and .github found no additional applicable AGENTS/CONTRIBUTING files. Repository build/test guidance was read but not executed under the static-only instruction.
  • Inspected every aggregate changed hunk in neverc/lib/Translate/Cpp/Frontend/Frontend.cpp: unrelated class/function/friend access contexts, empty-base checks, incomplete friend identities, copy/move candidate sets, lazy defaults, conversion eligibility, value-argument destruction, and record/array-reference exclusion. Read full exact-revision source around the changed helpers and traced utilityValueAdapterSource, signature collection and checkConsumedOperationSignature/completion-queue consumers.
  • The latest array-const change and its full test patch were inspected: terminal and intermediate pointer const, pointed-to arrays, aliases/redeclarations, multiple conversion results and constructors, owner friendship, lazy exceptions/defaults, source retention, actual-call rejection and temporary lifetime. Read the incomplete-class-friend commit's positive, negative and runtime fixture source plus current friend traversal/identity consumers. Test source and commit-author execution claims are not tests performed by this review.
  • Read the relevant utils/translate-frontends/docs/cpp-core-v2.md contracts, including live conversions, scalar and record arguments, fixed-array rank/bounds/reference categories, pointer-element qualification and original source retention.
  • High-risk std rotation covered all changed regexp range construction/merging, UTF-8 sequence splitting, last-byte bitmap merging, shared endpoints, repetition cloning, first-byte filtering and sticky allocation failures; changed normal/OOM fixture source; bigint digit parsing and both formatting paths with public declarations; netip address/port parsing and pre-multiply overflow guards; HTTP/2 HEADERS/trailer state transitions, HPACK, handler/reset/reaping/CONTINUATION callers; and QUIC PTO/idle/draining/address-validation callers. These are bounded path reviews, not global race-freedom, Unicode differential or transport/security certification.
  • Rechecked the unchanged Windows witness at tests/neverc/CppFrontendToolchainTests.py:2710–2810, the CI scheduling contract, and current Windows/navigation job logs and step states.
  • Fixes: 151cff63 limits per-atom UTF-8 lookahead to four bytes, preventing repeated suffix scans after the class-size expansion, and moves the range-capacity overflow guard before signed doubling. Both follow directly from source/caller analysis. Allocation error signaling is preserved; no timing or execution claim is made.
  • Added one source-only helper-boundary regression in tests/neverc/std/test_regexp_oom.c for early rejection, sticky failure, unchanged state and no allocation. It was not executed; ordinary non-sanitized execution alone would not reliably expose the original signed-overflow ordering.
  • Remote commit diff and both complete file contents were read back and matched the intended changes. The fix commit used [skip ci]; at 01:07 UTC its exact SHA had zero workflows and zero check runs. Pre-fix CI is not validation of this fix.
  • No other new statically proven regression was established. A possible pre-existing bigint formatting/allocation contract gap remains an unconfirmed follow-up, outside today's fix scope; no fix or completion claim is made for it. No speculative widening, refactor, dependency or CI/security change was made.
  • Limits: this is not whole-repository certification or exhaustive review of every new fixture. The 17,233 changed lines in TranslateTests.cpp were reviewed selectively; all other translator subsystems and unchanged std modules remain outside exhaustive coverage. No execution-based validation was performed.

Inventory and retrieval limits

The all-state issue and PR collections returned 18 issue/PR records and 8 PRs, with empty second pages at page size 100. PRs are excluded from issue totals. The comparison returned all 60 commits and 19 changed-file records, with an empty second commit page. GitHub omitted the large aggregate TranslateTests.cpp patch; selected individual-commit fixture patches were used instead. The exact full Frontend.cpp blob was retrieved through the Git blob connector.

Exact-source workflow/check collections and the Windows/navigation job collections were exhausted using second pages; first-page status refreshes are separately timestamped. The prior-source workflow collection was also exhausted. No broad historical-CI or whole-repository completeness is claimed. Scoped trees were untruncated: std 621 entries, neverc 2,582 entries, tests 1,046, utils 142 and .github 64.

Navigation evidence explicitly reports the 16 passing regressions and inventory above. Documentation facts also passed. Running and queued workflows remain inconclusive.

Publication precheck found push permission, an unprotected dev branch and the sole visible ruleset disabled. No protection or ruleset was changed. This report-only commit does not request a CI skip. Any automatically created checks are distinct from manually requested execution; no workflow was manually triggered or rerun. Refresh exact-SHA evidence before release decisions.

The branch advanced once during this review, from 4c09e189 to 2d65e5b1. The additional conditional-move commit was inspected, and CI was refreshed for the new SHA. No failure or cancellation from the earlier SHA is presented as the new SHA's result.

Today's top three priorities

  1. Resolve the Windows ARM64 cmath witness blocker with actual SDK evidence. The latest completed prior-source run at 4c09e189 ran 24 tests and failed four configurations (MSVC/Clang, O0/O2): the fixture expects exactly one _GENERIC_MATH2(pow) line, while the consumed MSVC 14.51.36231 cmath gives zero matches. Its compiler build/tests were skipped, and postbuild evidence failure was downstream. The current-source run is still in progress at this snapshot.

    • Next action: inspect the actual consumed SDK's pow declaration and select a provenance-preserving witness; do not guess a replacement from an unrelated SDK tag or remove the source checks.
    • Acceptance: the SDK difference is explained and all four witness configurations pass with exact-revision native evidence, followed by the previously blocked compiler gates.
    • Dependency/owner: actual SDK declaration evidence and completed CI; unassigned.
  2. Establish completed native evidence for the expanded translator and standard-library changes. The 283-commit interval includes conditional-move/apply query work and broad std changes. The static coverage below is meaningful but bounded. Current cpp-frontend-tools succeeds across its three archive-audit jobs; that does not certify the compiler, std runtime, relocation or installed-package matrix.

    • Next action: reconcile final exact-SHA platform results and the affected ZIP64/Deflate/bzip2 and conditional-move regression cases; keep cancellation, skip, execution and pass states separate.
    • Acceptance: advertised platform/runtime behavior has completed matching-revision evidence and unresolved gates are explicitly documented. Any broader execution needs separate authorization from this static-only review.
    • Dependency/owner: eight source workflows are still running and one is queued; unassigned.
  3. Reconcile translation roadmap acceptance with implementation and documentation. Issue #16 remains open with its acceptance checklists. Navigation synchronization is now complete for the current checker, following 98003d8 and 3b8771c, but 82 unfinished translations remain.

    • Next action: map P0–P3 gates to implementing SHAs, positive/negative fixtures, completed platform execution and installed-package evidence; prioritize unfinished translations by usage rather than adding filler links.
    • Acceptance: completion claims cite exact evidence and retain explicit unsupported boundaries. E Language follows the bounded C++ P3 baseline; passing navigation is not full C++/STL or translation completeness.
    • Dependency/owner: roadmap and native/install acceptance reconciliation; unassigned.

Static review coverage — 2026-10-03

  • Read root AGENTS.md, docs/local-dev.md, relevant compiler-development guidance, and .github/ci-policy.md. Scoped root/.github inventories and complete recursive neverc, std, and tests trees found no applicable nested AGENTS or separate CONTRIBUTING guide. The optional Brooks review skill's three shared reference files return 404; review proceeded from repository guidance and actual source, without inventing a score.
  • Inspected all changes to MathSDK.cpp in the interval, from a6d6b2d and 5ed2aba: nested member-pointer initializer adapters and source-owned apply call parameter proof. Traced source identity, cycle/type checks and adapter collection, selected user-operator argument flow, and tuple apply admission.
  • Inspected the corresponding Frontend.h descriptor and Frontend.cpp patches/callers: original apply result/method retention (4270–4326), written adapter arguments (12212–12244), invocation dependencies (12350–12440), explicit local-type/initializer traversal (13125–13146), and erased member-pointer initializer traversal (18460–18489), at 4c09e189. Read both added positive/negative fixture pairs in TranslateTests.cpp and their profile contracts. This includes unused-local source checks, redeclarations, selected bodies, adjusted parameters, temporary lifetimes and unevaluated effects; fixture source is not execution evidence.
  • Reviewed the latest four conditional-move commits f893d74f, 856b671e, 4c09e189, and 2d65e5b1, their signature/default and ownership consumers, regression-test source, and utils/translate-frontends/docs/cpp-core-v2.md. Const ownership, mutable fields, visited-state separation, exact mutable/const rvalue constructors, and default-argument laziness were the focus.
  • Compared the complete changed std/src/archive/zip/zip.c and std/src/compress/bzip2/bzip2.c implementations with 8d48d8b. Traced ZIP64 directory/local bounds, data descriptors, overlapping records, Deflate paths, aliased writer inputs, failure cleanup and close bookkeeping; traced bzip2 surplus-selector validation, stream-boundary accounting, concatenated-output bounds and CRC/error paths. Read public headers, manifest dependencies, method/test registrations, relevant ZIP/bzip2 test sources and flate callees. These files are unchanged between 4c09e189 and 2d65e5b1.
  • Inspected both ELF fast-link compatibility hunks in 161a051. Rechecked the exact Windows witness source at tests/neverc/CppFrontendToolchainTests.py:2710–2810, current navigation workflow/checker contract, translation synchronization commit metadata and zh-CN patches, and existing job logs.
  • Finding: no new statically proven defect in this bounded scope. No code fix or new test was authored. No unsupported-target-only concern or unresolved hypothesis was promoted into a fix.
  • Limits: not a whole-repository audit or approval of the full 283-commit interval. TAR, crypto, networking, OS, regexp and other standard-library changes, earlier translator changes, and the full large TranslateTests.cpp remain outside exhaustive review. Builds, tests, repository scripts, program execution and active CI operations were not performed. Dependencies, security settings, issue states, merges and deployments were not changed.

Inventory and retrieval limits

The all-state issue collection returned 18 issue/PR records and the all-state pull-request collection returned 8 PRs, each with an empty second page at page size 100. Pull requests are excluded from issue totals. PR #20 has zero review submissions, inline review comments and conversation comments in the checked collections.

Three 100-item commit pages reached the exact prior baseline, enumerating all 282 commits through 4c09e189; the additional one-commit comparison accounts for the full 283-commit interval through 2d65e5b1. The compare endpoint returned 153 changed-file records. Filename/commit enumeration does not imply every patch was inspected.

Exact-source workflows and checks were read at page size 100 with empty second pages; the latest first-page refresh has 11 runs and 22 checks. The completed prior-source Windows and navigation job collections were also exhausted. The whole-repository recursive tree request failed with a transport error; scoped recursive trees succeeded without truncation (neverc: 2,582 entries; std: 621; tests: 1,046). Files above 1 MB returned empty content or fetch errors through contents/raw paths; the exact Git blob API successfully supplied full Frontend.cpp and MathSDK.cpp before selected source review. No whole-repository or broad historical-CI completeness is claimed.

The current navigation job explicitly reports 16 successful layout regressions and a successful full navigation check: 736 pages across 11 locales, 1,201 resolving reference definitions, and 82 unfinished translations. The current docs-facts job also passed.

At the earlier 4c09e189 revision, the final observed snapshot was 11 workflows (2 successful, 1 failed, 8 cancelled) and 24 checks (7 successful, 1 failed, 15 cancelled, 1 skipped). The one failure was the Windows witness described above. Those cancelled runs are not passes and are not the status of 2d65e5b1.

Running/queued states are inconclusive. Branch dev is writable and unprotected at the publication precheck; the visible ruleset remains disabled. This review changed no CI or security configuration. The repository's CI scheduling policy now documents Markdown-only build exclusions and bounded auxiliary matrices. The report-only commit uses [skip ci]; any automatically created checks are not manually triggered validation. Refresh exact-SHA CI before release decisions.

Daily log — 2026-10-03

  • Issue/PR counts remain 9/0, without new comments or reviews.
  • Reviewed a bounded selection of the 283-commit, 153-file interval, including every MathSDK change, nested member-pointer/apply consumers, four latest conditional-move commits, ZIP/bzip2 boundaries and relevant regression sources.
  • Found no new statically proven defect; no code or tests changed.
  • Verified the previous 90 navigation-parity diagnostics are cleared on today's exact SHA. All 16 layout regressions pass; 82 unfinished translations remain explicitly tracked.
  • Kept the prior-source Windows SDK witness failure distinct from the current run, whose result is still pending.
  • Preserved the previous report and daily history below. No build/test/script execution, active CI action, dependency/security change, issue-state change, merge or deployment was performed.

Reporting rules

  • Refresh the timestamp, inspected SHA, issue/PR state, and exact-revision CI together.
  • Keep completed history and append a dated daily entry; preserve contributor edits.
  • Distinguish GitHub metadata, documented capabilities, author-reported test results, and independently observed CI.
  • Record unknowns and blockers explicitly. Do not infer completion percentages, deadlines, owners, or universal platform support.
  • Use the latest relevant evidence when a branch advances; do not carry forward an old failure as a new revision's result.
  • This workflow is static-only: minimal evidence-backed fixes may be committed, but builds, tests, repository scripts, active CI actions, issue-state changes, merges, and deployments are outside this daily review.

Pagination and inventory: the all-state issue collection returned 18 issue/PR records and the pull-request collection returned 8 PRs, each at page size 100 with an empty second page. PRs are excluded from issue counts. All nine open issues report zero comments. Latest PR #20 remains merged, with zero review submissions, inline review comments and conversation comments in the checked collections. The exact-source workflow and check-run queries returned all 12 runs and 23 checks, with empty second pages. The comparison enumerated all 48 commits and 9 files. Large aggregate patches for Frontend.cpp and TranslateTests.cpp were omitted by GitHub, so the source review used selected individual-commit patches and exact-revision source instead. A whole-repository recursive tree fetch failed; scoped directory inventories and available subtree inspection were used for instructions. No whole-repository or broad historical-CI completeness is claimed.

Today's top priorities

1. Diagnose the Windows ARM64 COFF witness failure

Evidence: the current Windows ARM64 Clang + LTO run failed in the COFF audit job. Its existing log reports 24 tests with four failures: MSVC/Clang at O0/O2 all stop in test_cmath_explicit_double_calls_preserve_values_and_remove_templates. The fixture expects exactly one _GENERIC_MATH2(pow) line, but the runner's MSVC 14.51.36231 cmath provides zero matches. This confirms the same blocker on today's exact revision, rather than carrying yesterday's status forward.

  • Next action: inspect the actual installed SDK's pow declaration and select a provenance-preserving witness for that declaration shape.
  • Acceptance: explain the SDK difference without weakening the source/provenance checks, then obtain authorized exact-revision native evidence for all four configurations.
  • Dependency: the log exposes the generic macros and log10 instantiation but not a sufficient replacement pow declaration. The compiler build and compiler tests were skipped. The failed postbuild-evidence step is downstream, not proof of a compiler regression.
  • Owner: unassigned.

2. Synchronize translated-guide navigation

Evidence: the current navigation log reports all 16 documentation-layout tests passing. The October 1 inline-code false links and September 30 literal-underscore regression no longer appear in this run's failures. The full checker still reports 90 jump-parity diagnostics across 10 translated translate.md pages; all reported navigation failures are these parity differences. The docs-facts job passed.

  • Next action: reconcile each translated page with the English guide's actual linked content. The English/zh-CN source comparison confirms missing new/memory/tuple/array and structured-binding jumps, plus the string-header versus string-literal destination mismatch. Do not add filler links merely to satisfy counts.
  • Acceptance: translated content and link multiplicities/destinations agree with the English source; an authorized later full navigation run passes.
  • Dependency: passing layout regressions validate the narrow parser fixes on this descendant revision, not complete multilingual documentation or all current compiler features.
  • Owner: unassigned.

3. Reconcile translation progress with issue #16

Evidence: #16 remains open with unresolved acceptance checklists. The 48-commit interval adds unique_ptr comparison/query handling, SDK imports, tuple/reference-wrapper and invoke/mem_fn result sources, pointer-layout metadata, hash queries and noexcept-sensitive function-template identity. Selected high-risk paths received static review; this does not certify the full feature list.

  • Next action: map P0–P3 gates to implementing SHAs, positive/negative fixture source, completed platform execution and installed-package evidence. Keep implemented, statically reviewed and natively verified states separate.
  • Acceptance: completion claims have exact-revision evidence; unreviewed source and unfinished platform/runtime/install gates remain explicit.
  • Dependency: E Language follows the bounded C++ P3 baseline. The successful cpp-frontend-tools workflow does not replace all compiler, relocation or runtime gates.
  • Owner: unassigned.

The previously recommended UI foundation slice remains open under #7: C23 core/draw contracts, a null HAL, one agreed real host/backend, and a triangle-list sample, with overlay builds excluding the web host. Select the platform/backend and owner before assigning implementation work.

Static review coverage and findings

  • Read root AGENTS.md, docs/local-dev.md and the relevant compiler-development guidance. Scoped root, .github, compiler, utility and test directory inventories found no applicable nested AGENTS or separate contributing guide on the reviewed paths.
  • Reviewed all 29 MathSDK.cpp diff hunks across 26c52fc…8d48d8b: lazy wrapper metadata, ref/cref and wrapper access source proofs, nested member-pointer/mem_fn adapters and temporary initializers, invoke/apply descriptor propagation, function-pointer hash conversions, explicit unique_ptr operator calls, and tuple-get forward-declaration authentication.
  • Reviewed both Project.cpp changed hunks: canonical noexcept type-argument identity, pack positions and propagation into instance-local declaration identities. Inspected the identity/storage fixture.
  • Reviewed all Frontend.cpp patches in the latest seven commits, c7dd294 through 8d48d8b. Traced SDK value-adapter proof, mem_fn query and carrier-source retention, member-pointer written-argument retention, copy/factory declaration traversal, written template traversal, and native/invoke/apply admission consumers. Also checked the changed Frontend.h descriptor fields and selected earlier metadata/query callers.
  • Inspected focused positive/negative test source for reference-wrapper metadata/access/factories, pointer hashing, callback identity/storage, nested and temporary mem_fn initialization, and nested member-pointer uses. The latest nested-pointer fixture pair and temporary-factory fixture pair received full patch inspection, including unevaluated effects, written type arguments, SDK replacements, receiver categories, missing bodies, reassignment, source identity and temporary lifetime. Fixture source is not execution evidence.
  • Rechecked the documentation checker's ordered inline-link/code handling, its four regression methods, the lint-docs workflow and exact-source failure logs. Compared English and zh-CN translate.md links to ground the reported parity debt.
  • Finding: no new statically proven defect in the reviewed scope. No code fix or new test was authored today. The narrow existing hash-wrapper argument gate still rejects top-level-const function-pointer lvalues; this is a boundary clarification opportunity, not a demonstrated regression or a reason to broaden the supported profile.
  • Limits: this is not a whole-repository audit. Earlier Frontend.cpp changes and the 100,868-line TranslateTests.cpp received targeted rather than exhaustive review; numerous hash/invoke/query additions remain outside a full end-to-end audit. No project code, builds, tests or scripts were executed and no CI was dispatched/rerun. Existing automatic CI and author-reported validation are separate evidence. No dependencies, security settings, issue states, merges or deployments were changed.

Code Quality: Push on dev success

The exact source has 23 check runs: 7 successful, 2 failed, 12 in progress and 2 queued, with zero legacy commit-status contexts. cpp-frontend-tools completed successfully across its three archive-audit jobs. Individual setup/policy/facts checks are not success of the larger compiler workflow.

The navigation job ran all 16 layout tests successfully, then failed the full checker on the 90 translation-parity diagnostics described above. The Windows ARM64 Clang + LTO job failed the existing SDK witness before the compiler build; its missing postbuild evidence is downstream. These are observed failures on this SHA, not failures produced by this review.

Running/queued states have no final result. Branch dev was writable and unprotected at the publication precheck; the visible repository ruleset was disabled. No release-readiness or universal-platform claim is made. The report-only commit uses [skip ci]; automatically created checks, if any, are not manually triggered validation. Refresh exact-SHA CI before using this report as release evidence.

Recently completed work

  • 2026-10-02: Completed the bounded static review with no confirmed new defect. Independently observed all 16 documentation-layout regressions passing on 8d48d8b; recorded remaining translation-parity and Windows ARM64 fixture blockers.

  • 2026-10-01: Published 4a85206, fixing inline-code false navigation links and adding four unexecuted regression tests. Remote commit and both file contents verified.

  • 2026-09-30: PR #20 merged, preserving literal underscores in heading anchors. This is distinct from the October 1 inline-code fix.

  • 2026-09-25: PR #19 merged. It clarifies GKI source-layout alerts and retries transient probes. Its description reports 9 layout tests, 27 upstream tests, and a clean diff check; those local test counts were not rerun for this report.

  • 2026-09-03: PR #13 merged, updating the Go gRPC dependency.

  • 2026-08-06: Issue #3 was closed as completed for Python plugin bindings. Related PR #4 and PR #5 were merged. Historical closure does not replace current regression evidence.

Daily log

2026-09-30

  • Established the initial baseline: 9 open issues and 0 open PRs.
  • Identified the documentation-navigation failure on revision 04299d7; confirmed docs-facts success and cpp-frontend-tools workflow success.
  • Flagged the mismatch between #16's planned-status wording and current translation documentation.
  • Proposed the three priorities above and recorded missing issue ownership/milestones.
  • Verification scope: read-only GitHub issue/PR metadata, repository documentation, exact-revision workflow states, and the failed navigation job log. No compiler or test suite was executed for this report.

2026-10-01

  • Kept issue counts at 9 open issues and 0 open PRs; confirmed #20 merged and no new discussion/review queue.
  • Compared 04299d7 through 26c52fc: 34 commits, 8 files. Reviewed every MathSDK change plus selected source-validation/lowering callers and regression-test source; no confirmed compiler bug in that bounded scope.
  • Statically proved and fixed inline-code allocation/operator signatures being parsed as documentation links. Published 4a85206; added four source-only regressions and verified remote contents.
  • Recorded the current Windows ARM64 COFF witness mismatch separately from the historical navigation failure. Did not substitute speculative SDK signatures or weaken checks.
  • CI snapshot: pre-fix source has 12 workflows (4 running, 7 queued, 1 failed); fix has 1 automatically created dynamic check queued. No test/build execution or active CI triggering by this review.

2026-10-02

  • Counts remain 9 open issues and 0 open PRs, with no new issue comments or PR review queue.
  • Compared 26c52fc through 8d48d8b: 48 commits and 9 files, including the prior fix/report commits. Reviewed every MathSDK diff hunk and both Project identity hunks, all Frontend.cpp patches in the latest seven commits, relevant callers/descriptors, and focused fixture source.
  • No new statically proven defect; no source code or tests changed. Kept the documented narrow admission boundaries rather than making a speculative widening.
  • Existing CI now confirms all 16 docs-layout regressions pass. Full navigation still fails on 90 parity diagnostics across 10 translated guides; English/zh-CN source confirms the missing or differing destinations.
  • Current Windows ARM64 Clang + LTO still fails all four cmath witness configurations on the expected pow macro line; compiler build/tests were skipped. No witness was weakened or guessed.
  • Exact-source snapshot: 12 workflows (2 successful, 2 failed, 7 running, 1 queued); 23 checks (7 successful, 2 failed, 12 running, 2 queued). No build/test/script execution or active CI action by this review.

Daily log — 2026-10-04

  • Kept issue/PR counts at 9/0; no new comments or review queue.
  • Enumerated 60 incoming commits and 19 changed files; excluded one report-only commit/file from the 59-commit, 18-file product delta.
  • Reviewed all aggregate Frontend.cpp changed hunks, selected signature/access/source consumers and fixtures, and the five changed std groups with high-risk parsing/allocation/state callers.
  • Published two narrowly scoped regexp fixes in 151cff63; added one unexecuted boundary-regression source and verified the exact remote diff/content.
  • Independently confirmed the Windows SDK witness failure on the pre-fix source. Current-source documentation navigation and all 16 layout regressions pass; 82 translations remain unfinished.
  • Retained prior snapshots verbatim. No builds, tests, benchmarks, repository scripts, active CI actions, dependencies/security changes, issue mutation, merge or deployment were performed.

Daily log — 2026-10-05

  • Counts remain 9 open issues and 0 open PRs, without new comments or review queue.
  • Enumerated 29 incoming commits / 14 files; excluded one report-only commit/file from the 28-commit / 13-file product delta. Twenty-seven author commits / 11 files are new beyond yesterday's report and regexp fix.
  • Reviewed all aggregate Frontend.cpp and MathSDK.cpp hunks, source/signature/lowering consumers, the new selection hooks and focused regression sources; no confirmed translator defect in that bounded scope.
  • Resolved the prior bigint follow-up with 54829407, propagating formatting allocation failures. Extended one existing fault-injection fixture without executing it; remote diff and content were verified.
  • Exact reviewed-source CI is now complete: 3 successful / 8 failed workflows and 15 successful / 8 failed / 1 skipped checks. Failure-stage evidence and unavailable root-cause logs are distinguished.
  • Independently reconfirmed the current Windows SDK witness failure and passing documentation navigation/layout checks; 82 translations remain unfinished.
  • Preserved previous snapshots and contributor text. No execution or manual CI actions, CI-skip markers, dependencies/security changes, issue mutation, merge or deployment.
