🔍 How It Works

🖱️ When the Launch Office Installer button is pressed:

1. The app generates config.xml
2. It downloads and runs officedeploymenttool.exe from Microsoft's official site
3. It runs setup.exe /configure config.xml

Note: Every file that the program downloads or generates during Office installation is stored in %TEMP%\OfficeSetupFiles

Hi! First of all, thanks for creating this tool. It's simple to use and makes Office installation much easier.

I have a couple of feature requests that I think could make it even more useful for automation:

1. CLI support for an existing configuration file

Would it be possible to add a command-line option like:

SimpleOfficeInstaller.exe /config Configuration.xml

The idea would be to skip the GUI and use an existing Configuration.xml directly. This would make it much easier to integrate the installer with deployment tools such as NTLite, MDT, or unattended Windows installations.

2. 32-bit Office option

Could you also add an option to generate a 32-bit configuration (OfficeClientEdition="32")?

I know 64-bit Office is the default recommendation nowadays, but there are still cases where the 32-bit version is preferable. It generally uses less memory, has better compatibility with some older Office add-ins, and can be a better fit for lower-end PCs with limited RAM.

Hi! I'll look into what’s possible for adding CLI support. About 32-bit Office, the app currently checks your system architecture and configures itself accordingly. You could just export the config, change it to 32, and then import it. I'll also look into adding advanced options to the app to configure such stuff.
