AUR version of the package is from 2022

Hi,
I installed i3-resurrect with the use of yay (as it is recommended in README) just to notice that my version of the programme does not have --session option. I found out that latest update of aur package was in 2022, so that is probably the problem.
To be honest, as an arch newbie, I have no idea what is the mechanism of generating AUR packages, but I guess that it's the package maintainer who needs to do something about it. That's why I'm writing this comment... Is it possible that you could refresh AUR package?

Yeah looking at this this, I believe that @JonnyHaystack is the maintainer of the package and I think something broke with the i3-resurrect-git package. I'll see if I can update the package but most probably not. We would need Johny's help with this.

It appears that the package version is hardcoded and not being updated with the pkgver() function

Need to add this to the PKGBUILD file since there hasn't been any new tags.

I plan to add AUR package publishing as a CI job on release, but haven't gotten around to finishing that yet. I don't have the scripts I used to publish it in the past and I haven't used Arch in years, so unfortunately I don't have a way to just quickly update it right now. I'd suggest installing from the git repo using pip for now.

I believe as a temporary fix we could update the i3-resurrect-git package to track the HEAD of master. Publishing tags with CI requires us to decide what exactly counts as a stable release and I am unsure what you have in mind. I could test out the change on Arch but I would still need you to update the pkgver() function since you are the maintainer. Would be nice if the AUR packages were up to date.

The -git packet is intended to track the main branch yes. It's not intended to be stable. It doesn't rely on tags either - the pkgver function is just appending the commit hash to the most recent release tag, which should still be fine I think.
