No Input from Xbox Controllers

Hello! You may already be aware of this issue, or perhaps it is only me that is affected by it.

As the title suggests, I cannot seem to receive input from Xbox controllers using the Wider Set mod. What's odd is that every other controller I've tried worked with no issues.

Here are the Xbox controllers I tried without success:

• Xbox Wireless Gaming Controller (2025) (Wired, Bluetooth, and Dongle)
• Xbox One Controller (Wired and Dongle)
• Xbox 360 (Wired)

Here are the non-Xbox controllers that all worked:

• 8Bitdo Zero 2
• PS4 Controller (Wired)
• Nintendo Switch Pro Controller (Bluetooth)

Environment and Version changes I tried (while troubleshooting Xbox controllers):
FortRise v2.2.2 w/ Wider Set built from latest commit (~12 days ago)
FortRise v2.2.2 w/ Wider Set v0.6.1
FortRise v5.1.1 w/ Wider Set v0.6.1

Prior to those version tests, I deleted my TowerFall directory and reinstalled it.

I'd be more than happy to do additional testing or provide any information upon request.

yes, this is a huge issue right now and other have pointed out this issue earlier, I am still finding out the fixes for it and I'll be providing an option to try which drivers to enable/disable would make this work.

Awesome. I appreciate it! I'm sure you're aware that the issue appears to be with XInput, which is why you'll be providing the option to switch drivers. I only made that connection yesterday after making my initial post. My 8BitDo Zero 2 has a very convenient button combo to switch modes between DirectInput and XInput.

What's interesting is that the Xbox controllers worked on my friend's system. He was using the Microsoft Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10/11.

During my tests on my system, I was using the 8BitDuo universal wireless adapter..

I really expected his to not work either, so there appears to be some nuance to the issue that eludes me.

Anyway, it seems you're well aware of the bug (I've seen previous commits addressing it), and if there's anything I can do to help just let me know.

So, I did some more testing. Aaand, everything is working... I can't reproduce it.

My 8BitDo Wireless Receiver seemed to be bugged or something. I think I was drawing too much power from that port and it caused a slew of issues.

The weird thing is the 8BitDo Zero 2 wasn't working in Xinput mode, and now it is. The same with my Xbox controller plugged in. They're both working fine. ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

It's weird.. someone has also said that their Xbox controller now working on their other pc, but not on another pc, which just has same configuration and mods. Which TF version you have? Steam or Non-Steam?
