Map data not populating new chunks

From what I've observed, the sync is not making new chunks appear on my Journeymap, only updating chunks I've already explored myself.

Just for clarification, there's additional map data that you or others have previously explored, but MapSync isn't providing you with (or rendering) that map data?

Yes, other's have explored more than what I am seeing. It appears mapsync is able to download those chunks but they are not displaying/rendering on my end other than updates to chunks I have already explored

Does this issue effect other map mods too or just journeymap?

I tried xaeros and it seemed to only pull a small amount of chunks in the area relatively close to me. I could provide you with my server address if you need that for testing.

Have tested in a new instance. Sync is working, but again other people who have the mod say they do not see my chunks, and I do not see chunks other than the ones I have explored on my other instance.
