to let you know: I managed to fit in an additional output connector -- a barrel plug DC connector -- to my PocketPD (Hardware version 1.0):

(Note that the barrel plug might not be rated at 5A but only at 2A).

Some suggestions:

• Add somewhere a "user modifications" gallery, where people can share their modifications (wiki?) or where you show modifications which users have made and sent you.

• Maybe in a future PCB revision you can add solder points to the PCB for exactly this kind of modification?

• And maybe, since it is now "proven" that the connector can be added without sacrificing any other connector, you can actually add it in a next design/ offer to add it as an option? (however, the connector won't be soldered to the PCB but screw-mounted to the case, which requires more manual soldering.)

  If you are concerned with the power rating, maybe adding a "polyfuse" and/ or using the sense pin of the barrel plug connector to make the firmware setting an appropriate power limit if a barrel plug is plugged in -- but I have also seen higher power barrel sockets so far, installed in devices (small computers).
