MkDocs made a bit of a mess recently with its 2.0 release. The Materials for MkDocs team built zensical instead. This comes with easy integration from MkDocs, and seems to be what people are switching to (e.g., cuthbert did this migration recently). Shouldn't be too much work, would be nice to do soon.
