Version in Module Folder is not the same as the .psd1 Version

Hi,

I installed the module via install-module from PSGallery and tried to import it.
The import failed because the version mentioned in the .psd1 is "2607.1" but the folder is called "2607.1.0".

I changed the version in the .psd1 and the import worked.

Is this the intended behaviour?

Thanks for reporting this and for the kind words.

The version in the manifest is currently 2607.1. On my system, Install-Module creates the folder as 2607.1, whereas your installation has created 2607.1.0.

PowerShell treats 2607.1 and 2607.1.0 as equivalent version values, so the differing folder name should not normally prevent the module from importing. This may be related to the version of PowerShellGet or PSResourceGet used to install it.

Could you please provide the exact Import-Module error and the output of:

$PSVersionTable

Get-Module PowerShellGet, Microsoft.PowerShell.PSResourceGet -ListAvailable |
    Select-Object Name, Version, Path

Get-InstalledModule WindowsOSBuild -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue |
    Format-List Name, Version, InstalledLocation

Get-ChildItem "$HOME\Documents\WindowsPowerShell\Modules\WindowsOSBuild"

That should help establish why the version is being handled differently on your system.
