Lists are groups of feeds.

Each feed can be added to one or multiple lists. Initially, all feeds are added to the "Default" list.

Lists can then be queried from. A filter could be set to query from a specific list, or multiple lists.

Lists are a great way to manage subscriptions by categorizing them.

Should articles be able to be assigned into a list on per-article basis? I think yes.

When we need to determine a list the article goes into, we look in this order:

• If article has list_id set, that's what we use
• If not, we look at list_id of the feed.
• If both are unset, we put an article into the default list.

It would be fairly straightforward to integrate custom filtering pipelines in here - just run them at the time we add a new article.

Now I'm thinking of tags. Those are very similar in idea to lists, but they provide a many-to-many relationship: a tag can be assigned to many articles, an article can be assigned many tags.

Should I perhaps implement lists more like tags? Or should tags be a separate feature?
